How’s Your Blog Coming Along?

Posted Oct 05 2012 9:39am

It was Thursday of last week, as I sat dressed in mismatched sweats, papers sprawled all around me, pouring over some case law on my laptop, when the Husband suddenly came up behind me and peeked over my shoulder. “How’s your blog coming along?,” he asked. “It isn’t,” I replied.

And that’s the ugly truth of it, I haven’t had much time to blog lately. In fact, I haven’t had much time for anything. Believe me, it horrifies me just a tad to realize that my last entry was weeks ago; and this after, I just got through telling you that I would be blogging on a more regular basis.

The last couple of weeks have been crazy on the work front. I’ve been staying late, bringing home work with me, and getting up anywhere between 4 and 5am in the morning, to start working again. Needless to say, during all of  this, my fitness, family life, and eating have suffered.

But this week I’ve taken a step back and it was all brought about by a somewhat scary episode that saw me massively confused, forgetting several important things at home (wallet anyone), and convincing myself that court started an hour earlier than it has for the last five years. I couldn’t believe how very scattered I was, that’s when one of my friends suggested that my description of my morning sounded like the workings of an overly exhausted mind.

She was right.

And so I’m determined to claw my way back to a more healthy and balanced life. Which at this point doesn’t even mean losing weight or trying a lot of new exercise routines. It means spending time with my family of three, keeping my work and home life separate, eating nutritious food that fuels me, and yes blogging. Because this little piece of real estate on the blogosphere is my outlet and all of you are part of my support.

So let’s get on with it, shall we!?!?!

The End of Summer 2012

You and I haven’t really talked much since I returned from my trip to Toronto and the Rockies in mid-August. And so I thought I would give you a preview of some of the adventures I had before the tank top days turned to sweater weather.

Dog Hike Girl Hows Your Blog Coming Along?

I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that the end of my summer featured a good deal of hiking, a favourite past time of us Coastal Casa dwellers. One of my favourite hikes this summer was Dog Mountain on Mt. Seymour in North Vancouver – it was a gorgeous hike that was made all the more fun by an unexpected encounter at the viewpoint! icon wink Hows Your Blog Coming Along?

Olympic Torch Vancouver Hows Your Blog Coming Along?

And then there was that time I was walking home from the Skytrain and noticed that the Olympic Cauldron had been lit for the first time since the 2010 Olympics! I quickly ran home, grabbed Daisy and a couple of cameras, and headed down to happily snap my evening away. Easily one of the most memorable evenings I have ever spent in Vancouver.

Mexico Protest Vancouver Hows Your Blog Coming Along?

And then there was that time the Husband and I headed out to enjoy Mexico Fest, only to find ourselves in the middle of a full on protest. Crazy times!!!

Of course, knowing me, we also need to talk about some delicious eats!

So there you have it . . . we have a lot to catch up on friends. And I look forward to sharing my adventures with you soon!!!
