Hot Water Challenge: Week Two

Posted Sep 23 2009 12:00am
After two full weeks of sipping hot water, I am happy to report that it is now my drink of choice! My overall feeling of well-being has much improved. I'm not sure if it is due to the hot water or some of the other dietary changes I am making in my life, but I suspect it is a combination of both. In addition to my new hot water habit, I have been eating a high protein (eggs, fish tofu) and practically gluten-free diet, cutting out sugar and chocolate, eating a larger meal at lunchtime and juicing. For me, this has worked wonders.

First, my energy has skyrocketed. I used to be plagued by headaches and lethargy onset at midday and lasting until I went to bed. I now feel energized and awake all day and into the evening.

My sugar cravings both after lunch and dinner as well as the 3-4 p.m. ones have significantly subsided and many of my pre-menstrual symptoms have disappeared. Finally, my waist feels trimmer and my body lighter overall.

After months of questioning the right way to eat for my body, I feel confident I have found what works for me. I truly believe in bioindividuality, the concept that everyone is different, so what benefits me may not do the same for you.

If, like me, you've been sipping hot water, I'm eager to hear your experiences with it!

With diet: experiment, be patient, keep a log, eliminate and add back in. Stick with it and the answers will be clear to you.
