Homeschoolers use online fitness videos for physical education lessons

Posted Apr 29 2009 10:58pm

Recently, we received a message from a homeschooling parent who wanted to share her GoTrybe experiences with the rest of her homeschooling group.

Here’s what she had to say:

Hi everyone,

I am sure you have all felt “I wish my child could get more excersize!” Well I have found a great new website: GoTrybe.com. They teach a great Physical Education class online that includes a workout, nutrition, wellness and motivation. You can choose from different workouts to suit your interest.

They have kickboxing, yoga/pilates, dance etc… They have an online workout video that takes you through warmup, cardio, strength and flexibility. They are great and geared to kids. Scott loves it and I try it with him.

As a member you get an avatar (a cartoon like character) that you get to create how he/she looks and buy clothes for your character with points that you earn by completing workouts and lessons. The program takes about 40 minutes a day or you can do more or less as you like.

There is a free one day membership to try it out and then it is only about $30 for a whole year. That is an excellent price. I don’t think they are making any profit on this site as it must take quite a bit of money to produce the videos and keep the website running.

They have a great customer service team and are very friendly from my experience. It is all about keeping kids fit, healthy and happy! I think it is great. Give it try.

Ruth
