Herbal Remedies For Tinnitus – Can You Really Cure Tinnitus With Herbs Or Supplements?

Posted Oct 20 2010 9:01pm 3 Comments

Many people are looking for a herbal remedy for tinnitus. This is understandable given the current medical position on this condition. In this article, I’ll tell you why and cover some of the possible herbal options you have.

Why Herbs?

Unfortunately, there is no drug designed to cure tinnitus. Doctors do not even have a full understanding at a neuro-biological level of what is happening when tinnitus occurs. Until then, there are many other ways to get relief and this can include herbal remedies.

Homeopathic Remedies

This is a deeply divided subject and while some people believe in the power of homeopathy, many more do not.

These remedies are extremely diluted potions, often in parts per million. For the record, I think that they are completely useless and advise you to stay well clear of these scams. Even if you believe they have some value for other conditions, I have seen very little evidence that suggests any benefit for tinnitus sufferers.

All In One Remedies

There are a few all in one remedies available on the internet that claim to cure your tinnitus. In my opinion, you will derive some benefit from these.

A Better Approach

Looking into herbs is a good approach because tinnitus can be cured naturally. However, the benefits of supplements and herbs are counteracted by all the other antagonistic factors in your life.

Only by looking at the bigger picture and addressing each and every lifestyle factor in your life can you defeat tinnitus. For example, one of these is your diet and what you eat. No matter how many beneficial herbs you eat, if you also eat foods that are bad for your tinnitus then you will never solve your problem.

I am going to respectfully disagree with your "scam" allegation regarding homeopathy for tinnitus (or any condition), Sonzy.

Most people's explanation for why this type of therapy is not scientifically valid (including scientists, who should know better) is based on the fact that the ingredients in these remedies are potentized (diluted) until they only exist in trace amounts - if that.

What they don't acknowledge, is the fact that each remedy carries the electromagnetic frequency of the ingredient it contains and the more potentized it is the more powerful that frequency.

Are frequencies for the sake of healing poppycock? Well, if the life's works of Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein, who proved decades ago that everything on earth contains a unique vibration and that like vibrations attract, are poppycock then maybe. Vibrational energy and the law of attraction is a conventional wisdom of those in the field of quantum physics.

The people that have been the greatest supporters of homeopathy throughout history, namely the world's royal families and elitist types, are taught these principles from a young age.

(For more history and details on homeopathy and homeopathic remedies commonly used by naturopath's to "cancel-out" symptoms, I recommend you check out this article: )

That said, I can't overemphasize the importance of your last paragraph - everything as a cause and an effect and tinnitus is nothing more than an effect of systemic imbalance in the body.

When people get out of the "poor me," victim mindset, when they become a cause in their environment instead of an effect, then and only then are they capable (and entirely capable at that) of overcoming the maladies underlying their condition by nuturing their body's nature, not dephiling it with "nature perfecting" drugs and surgeries.

You're right on the mark when you say that natural remedies, no matter how proven (i.e. ginkgo), are essentially a waste of time and money if the tinnitus sufferer doesn't stop causing their own tinnitus symptoms with their daily, seemingly innocuous, decisions
