Hello! I’d like to introduce myself and launch my new Blog. My name is Carolyn and I’m also known as “The Wellness Coach”. Much of this blog will be devoted to discussing ways to improve overall health and wellness.
Taking care of yourself is like putting money in your 401K (or in these scary financial times - perhaps your piggbank!). It’s the best investment you can make in yourself and your future. We’re living in a world where there’s very little we can control…..the collapse of Wall Street, the mortgage crisis, the impending election, Mother Nature’s wrath….all of these factors are out of our control and yet affect our lives. Your health and well-being, however, are completely under your influence. What you eat, how much you exercise, your quality of sleep, your stress level ….all of these factors are largely under your jurisdiction. The wellness choices you make today will affect how you feel both physically and emotionally tomorrow.
All of us have areas in our life where we can do better, but making significant improvements in our health can seem overwhelming. Furthermore, it’s the little changes we make that overtime make the biggest difference in bringing change to our lives. So decide to make a small change this week. Here are some ideas: 1. take the stairs instead of the elevator; 2. cut out that 2nd glass of wine (the first is good for the heart the second is bad for the waistline!); 3. walk 20 minutes during your lunch hour; 4. Go to bed 30 minutes earlier; 5. swap green tea for one of your cups of coffee; 5. floss daily; 6. BREATHE!….DEEPLY!
REMEMBER: Don’t re-invent the wheel this week - just make one small change and stick with it! Good luck and let me know how it goes….
