Over the weekend, I spent a little bit of (much-needed) time organizing my purse.
During that process, I realized that if a stranger looked through my bag, they’d instantly learn that I’m a health-conscious person.
They’d have to scroll through my iPod to learn that I’m a Lionel Richie fan though.
So, just what are these healthy things that I have in my bag?
I have a cute little tin that I keep filled with almonds at all times for emergency snackage. I love carrying nuts because you don’t have to worry about melting or spoiling. Unless you get chocolate covered nuts, that is.
To be honest, I’m not much of a germaphobe. Maybe I should be? I’m a total “5 second rule” kind of girl. However, I do like to keep Blum Naturals all-purpose cleansing wipes in my purse to use after pumping gas, riding an escalator, or using a public restroom. Especially, if I’ll be digging into that almond tin.
Mini Larabars Mini Larabars are practically made to throw in your purse (and you can find them at Target). I’ll usually carry them inside one of the pockets in my purse, so they don’t get smashed. I’ve learned from experience!
Sometimes my stomach can get queasy, especially when I’m on any kind of prescription medication or taking a long drive in the car. These all natural candies help to settle my temperamental tummy. Plus, they taste really good!
After reading The Beauty Detox Solution, I’ve been taking digestive enzymes to help my body process the nutrients in the foods I’m eating. For me, they’ve been working great, and I take one tablet before each meal. I plan to do a post on digestive enzyme tablets in the near future. Stay tuned!
Before you get to thinking that I’m gross and/or crazy, let me clarify that I only put a mini container of almond milk in my purse if I’m going out for breakfast or coffee and the place doesn’t have dairy-free milk. I do this all of the time, and it usually works out great. If you try this, just be sure that the lid is fully secure. I didn’t remember to this when I met Kelly for coffee on Sunday and nearly ruined one of my good bags!
Again, I don’t just leave bottles of coconut water in my purse at all times. If I’m going to be running errands for several hours or heading to the gym, I’ll always grab a bottle to keep myself hydrated. I love how some brands (like Zico) make bottles with screw tops. No spillage- woo hoo!
To protect my lips from the sun and from getting too dry, I always carry Eco Tints by Eco Lips in my purse. They are cruelty, carmine, and gluten free and made with all natural ingredients. My favorite shade is sugar plum, which is especially pretty in the fall and winter months.
NuNaturals Stevia packets
As I’ve mentioned countless times, I refuse to use artificial sweeteners, so I always carry stevia packets around in my purse. These came in handy at the Healthy Living Summit when I was Brittney’s stevia hook-up each morning.
Do you carry any healthy essentials around in your purse? What would a stranger learn about you if they found your bag? I think that a stranger would also learn that I’m a coupon nut since I carry a completely filled coupon organizer at all times. I’d be scared to know what else they’d think of me!
I want to learn more about digestive enzymes, so being waiting for that post. I always carry water, sunblock (have sun 360 here), hand sanitizer and will throw in a snack if needed. I love that you have an almond tin:) Thanks for sharing.
I'm Erin, the happy gal behind The Grass Skirt, which is named after my signature smoothie. Here I share how I maintain a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle, my favorite recipes, workouts and products, and my love for Lionel Richie. Hope you'll enjoy reading!
