Healthy Living Summit and Lichi Super Fruit Detox Product Review

Posted Jun 07 2011 1:56pm

Good morning! I hope that your Tuesday is starting off well. I had wanted to get out for another early run this morning but my belly and my body both said “We’re not running anywhere until you feed us!” I know better than ignore such a strongly worded statement so I dug right into my favorite overnight oats mix .

overnight oats oatmeal with almond milk banana multigrain oats chia seeds and peanut butter

Delicious as always! The mashed banana is key to providing a touch of sweetness – no honey or maple syrup necessary.

After digesting and getting some work done I headed out for a sweaty 5 mile out and back run along the lake path. Although I do love running right along the water, the lake path offered a bit more shade, which was a welcome respite on such a hot day!

After chugging a bunch of water, I refueled with some awesome vegan tacos leftover from last night’s dinner.

The flavor of the soy chorizo is so reminiscent of my family’s beef tacos that I enjoyed so much as a child. I think we may need to have a taco/burrito night every week from now on!

As I can barely contain my excitement, I have to share that yesterday I successfully registered for this year’s Healthy Living Summit ! I say successfully registered because in the past two years the 200 available spots were snatched up within the first 20 minutes. Therefore, I made sure to be at my computer at 7 pm central time with my information ready to go. I can’t wait to meet and learn from so many other wellness bloggers!

Today I have the very fun task of sharing a unique product review. Through twitter, I happened upon with the Lichi Super Fruit product line. As the supplements are almost entirely fruit and herb based, I was intrigued and contacted the promotions department to see if I could give them a try. They were generous enough to send me their entire line and offer a free set for a lucky reader.

I will review the Lichi Superfruit Extract and Probiotic supplements after taking them for full month. Today, I will share my thoughts on the Detox beverage.

To offer a little background, I have never tried any sort of detox. To be honest, the thought of going without food or even going without solid food does NOT appeal to me. The information that accompanied the Lichi Super Fruit Detox stated that the beverage should assist with.

  • Restarting the weight loss process
  • Improving mental clarity
  • Boosting immune system levels
  • Increasing energy levels
  • Clears troubled skin

As I am currently at my healthy, happy weight I won’t be able to speak to the effect that these products have on weight loss. However, I do often find that I lack energy in the mid-morning and afternoon and sometimes experience a bit of mental ‘fogginess’.

They way that the Detox works is that you drink one three ounce bottle each morning on an empty stomach for six days. During this time, the company recommends that you adopt the following healthy habits in order to achieve the best results:

  • Aim to get at least 30 to 60 minutes of moderate physical activity into your day.
  • Eat a diet rich in vegetables, fruit, whole grains, and protein.
  • Stay away from unhealthy saturated or trans fats.
  • Fuel your body with plenty of water to replenish your body’s hydration levels.
  • Get plenty of sleep, at least 8 hours a night, so that your body can properly rest.

Seems like smart and reasonable advice to me!

Lichi Super Fruit Total Body Detox

The Lichi Superfruit Detox Drink contains:

Aloe Vera Juice Blend (Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice, Inner Fillet Aloe Vera Juice), Cleanse Blend (Lychee Juice Powder, Milk Thistle Extract, Dandelion Extract, Slippery Elm Extract, Alfalfa Extract, Green Tea Extract, Burdock Extract, Fennel Extract, Ginger Root Extract, Black Cohosh Extract, Purified Water, Fructose, Natural Flavors, Glycerine, Citric Acid, Xanthum Gum, Potassium Sorbate (to preserve freshness) Rebaudioside A (from Stevia).

The only ingredient that I’m don’t like is the Potassium Sorbate as I try to avoid preservatives. As it is a short term use product, I felt okay with drinking it.

The Detox beverage has a slightly thick and slippery consistency and tastes of lychee berry and aloe. I drank it immediately before my early morning runs (along with water) and enjoyed the immediate but subtle boost to my energy levels immediately after drinking.

Lichi Superfruit Detox Results

As I have never engaged in any sort of detox, I really enjoyed giving the Lichi Super Fruit Detox a try. I greatly appreciate that the recommendations included with the products are reasonable and health promoting. I am also big fan of the fact that the Lichi Detox doesn’t require the user to stop eating an energizing diet of real whole foods.

As I was already engaging in the recommended healthy habits, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my morning and afternoon energy levels felt more balanced than usual. Additionally, I noticed that my typical afternoon cravings for sweets were weaker than is typical.

Overall, I think that the Lichi Super Fruit Detox is a great tool for individuals who want a little help jump-starting a transition to healthier diet and exercise habits. I will be reviewing the Lychee Berry Extract and Probiotic supplements in a few weeks when I have used them for a full month. At that time, I’ll host a giveaway of the entire Lichi Super Fruit product line !

I would love to hear from you…
