After eating and drinking college-style last weekend , I’ve been doing my best to get myself back on the healthy track this week. Plus, I have plans to eat my body weight in stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie next week, so I better get a move on.
I’m taking my workouts up a notch from the fairy crap I’ve been trying to pass off as workouts lately (1 mile jog to the dog park? Are you for real girl?). Tuesday’s workout was a pretty tough boot camp class. And last night, I took a kickboxing class for the first time in a long time and it totally kicked my ass. I was a slow-motion ninja, though. Wasn’t pretty.
On a related note…
I was in a horrible mood yesterday afternoon. Ryan got home from work and I was still sitting at my desk, working away, totally stressed-out. He took one look at me and almost walked right back out the door.

I finally forced myself to back away from the computer and dragged my ass to the gym. The mantra “You’re just one workout away from a good mood” rang so, so true last night. I walked out of the gym looking more like this…
Honestly, workouts benefit my crazy ass just as much mentally as they do physically.
In the food department, I’ve been doing pretty well this week, too.

Do you make any changes to your diet and exercise habits during the holidays?
I don’t hold back when it comes to holiday food – I will stuff my face and thoroughly enjoy it. So, on the days and weeks surrounding the holidays I try to eat a little lighter and workout a little more. I need to make sure I can still squeeze my ass into my bikini come New Years (beach vacation, holla!).
