Happy Easter and a Happy Cheat Day!

First of all HAPPY EASTER!!! I hope everyone is taking some time to relax and indulge this weekend!
Yesterday was my 1st official cheat day, and boy did I cheat! My day began with meeting my amazing friend Elina at Starbucks for a green tea latte and a lemon cranberry scone!

For the rest of the day I ate relatively well, I finished off some left over chicken and some salad. Easter dinner began with some light appetizers, shrimp and some brie and crackers. Yummy! Then I was able to indulge in some turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. I was actually good and avoided the mashed potatoes and instead option for some green beans. My amazing mother made my favourite all time dessert, Lemon Meringue Pie! Needless to say I had a BIG slice of that. And it wouldn't be Easter without some Mini Eggs!

Overall I definitely enjoyed having my cheat day, but to be honest I am looking forward to getting back to my caveman diet. I am obviously feeling bloated and yucky from all of the sugar and gluten. But we all need to treat ourselves every once in a while, and having a cheat day every few weeks definitely gives me more incentive to stay on track with my diet.

Since we had our big Easter dinner yesterday, today I get to relax! I got up and went for a nice 5 km run, but after all of the unhealthy food I had yesterday I wasn't feeling to great throughout the run. Even though I am allowed cheat days every few weeks (as we all should be) I doubt I will be taking advantage of them too often, I am not feeling to great today. But was it worth it to indulge a bit? YES!

Tomorrow I get re-assessed by my trainer, so I am hoping the past 3 weeks of hard work have gotten me a little bit closer to my goal of lowering my body fat  %, cortisol and estrogen levels. So, I will definitely be blogging about that tomorrow!
