Hair, eyes, jewellery, face!

Posted Jan 10 2010 12:00am
My Mam was sent this Avon True Colour eyeshadow quad from a website to test. She used it the once and passed it on to me. The shade is 'Smokey Eyes'

I used the white to highlight my brow bone, applied the pink on the inner half of my lids, the grey on the outer half of my lids and the crease, and the dark grey on the outer v and under my lower lashes. I finished the look with Eyeko mascara. I really like the little quad, the colours are so pretty and girly! I think this may be the first Avon make up product I've used!

I also did a spot of hair dying today. Another thing I picked up from my Mam last week - L'Oreal Color Pulse hair dye mousse in Red Copper

It's a 'wash in wash out' type of dye that lasts a few weeks or so. I'm quite impressed with it, the colour is really nice

With flash: My hair feels so soft and shiny now!

Off out I went with my new hair and picked up a few bits and pieces on the high street today including some seriously bargainous jewellery from Asda
75% off the lot - this all cost about a fiver!

I wanted these earrings when they are full price (only £4) but at just £1 how could I resist. They are 80's-tabulous!

I also got some bits in Boots, Clean and Clear Deep Action Refreshing Gel Cleanser (what a mouthful) and Natural Collection Neutral Translucent Powder.

I have been using Clean and Clear's Shine Control Wash for the last few months, which has been fine but nothing really spectacular. So, I thought I'd give this one a go. Here's the blurb!

I have been SO impressed with the translucent powder , I think maybe perhaps I have found THE ONE! Here's a swatch
I spent ages trying to choose the right shade - as well the the 'Neutral' which I went for, they also have 'warm' and 'cool'. I have quite a yellow skintone and wanted to avoid looking like the powder was conflicting with my skin and trying to change it's natural shade. I have been using the Elf powder for a while and have been quite pleased with it and repurchased it a few times - but I have found that when I touch up my makeup at lunchtime, it adds a lot of unnatural colour to my skin (I look peach! Not good). Sooo, as the ultimate test to this new Natural Collection stuff, I reapplied with a brush in the afternoon after my skin had got a little shiny, and much to my delight the shine was gone and the shade actually matched my skin! Hurrah! I'll see how I fare with it for the next couple of days, but so far so fabulous!
