I was at the grocery store this weekend and decided to pick up some Oikos Greek Yogurt. I've heard so many great things about this stuff and decided to give it a try. I really like the Stonyfield Organic yogurt (Their caramel underground yogurt has been discontinued- SO UPSETTING!!) so I thought their Greek version would be good.
Today, I tried the fat free vanilla yogurt-- 110 calories, 0 grams fat, 0 g fiber. The nutrition facts weren't bad except for the zero grams of fiber. Oh well! I must say this stuff is pretty good! A little bitter but has a rich, thick consistency that makes you feel like you are eating ice cream or a cup of whipped cream. I've never had yogurt this thick and creamy before; how on earth do they make this stuff?! It kind of reminded me of sour cream. It was a little too bitter for me so I added 1 packet of Truvia, which made it a lot sweeter.
I've noticed that other bloggers eat this yogurt with a 1/2 cup of granola or Kashi Go Lean crunch... this could have definitely used a little something extra (aka something crunchy). Sooooo, I'm kind of bummed I don't have a box of granola or some kind of crunchy cereal sitting at my desk-- unless I pull it out of my ass. Maybe a Walgreens run is in store for later? I also bought Oikos Greek yogurt with honey which I will try tomorrow and review. I'm excited to see how that flavor tastes and I will make sure to add something crunchy to it!
