Many thanks for all the birthday love yesterday! Your comments made me smile :)
Last night I celebrated by going to dinner at the new Tobacco Road Sports Cafe with a few girlfriends. Chris was out of town, remember?
As soon as we talked in I was in awe of how big it was! And how many TV’s there were! There were even lounge chairs for sports watching. And the best part?
It over looks the Durham Bulls baseball stadium! So you can enjoy the came while eating dinner or having drinks.
I think this is a great addition to the Durham restaurant scene!
Also, this is not your typical sports bar. The Tobacco Road Cafe offers several healthy options and 75% of the food is made from scratch. An added bonus is that they mainly use fresh, local ingredients! All of their produce is purchased locally. My ears definitely perked up when I our waiter was telling us that.
My lunch yesterday was leftover pasta and sausage, so I opted for a lighter dinner. There were so many delicious options on the menu though so it was difficult to make a decision!
I pondered over the menu while sipping on a local brew. Mother Earth’s Endless River, which is a wheat beer. YUM!
After much deliberation I finally opted for the cobb salad. Bacon seemed to be calling my name :)
This salad was outstanding and unbelievable fresh! Just look at how bright the avocado and tomato were!
It was HUGE so I only finished off about 80% of this and was too full for dessert. Especially since I enjoyed a second beer with dinner. A Pyramid summer seasonal. Loved this one!
Happy birthday to me. Thanks for a wonderful evening ladies!
This morning started off wonderfully with a delicious fruit smoothie. Chris really has a nack for making smoothies. The New Belgium glass looks pretty in purple, dontcha think? I was drying my hair while Chris was making so I’m not exactly sure what was in it.
