The babies have arrived! All 30 of them! Christa and I went hard to work yesterday to make these adorable pops for a baby shower.
We made white cake with lemon frosting for these pops. The lemon frosting added a very subtle flavor, but was just the right amount for a light, refreshing taste. It reminded us of the Lemon Loaf that they sell at Starbucks, but fortunately for us, it doesn’t come with all the extra added cals (the cake recipe called for egg whites as opposed to whole eggs)!
After they were dipped and dried, we decorated the faces with edible food marker and used mini cupcake liners for bonnets. To attach the bonnets, we used candy coating as glue.
