If you’re new to the blog, you may not realize that I spent 3 amazing years in the Philadephia area right after college.
I lived in Wayne, PA for most of the time and had a wonderful time soaking up the city. I met wonderful friends through the Junior League of Philadelphia, I ran my first race further than a 5k, and ended up running 3 half marathons, 2 10ks, 2 5 milers, and an 8k during my time in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia was truly the perfect transition city between my comfortable college town of Athens, Georgia and the big city of New York.
But, today, I said goodbye to that era when I turned over my Pennsylvania license. They didn’t even give me a true replacement. Unlike Georgia or Pennsylvania, you have to wait 3-4 weeks to recieve your actual photo license. Until then, I’m stuck with this piece of paper which doesn’t even fit in my wallet properly. I may have shed a tear today when they took my license. I felt like it was the end of an era. Do you keep your old driver’s licenses?
This new license, also meant that I had to carry an envelope of ID, certificates, and explanations on why I didn’t have an appropriate photo id reflecting my new name. Luckily, within four weeks I’ll have both my new passport and my new driver’s license! I have to admit, the security guards at LaGuardia were very friendly and helpful today!
Once the stress of getting through security was over, I had plenty of time to enjoy the new Delta iPad lounge in the Delta terminal! How cool is this lounge? Each table has their own iPad which can be used to surf the web, play games, or check flight status! Does your airport have anything like this?
The representative said that the lounge has received such positive feedback that Delta plans to expand it quickly throughout the other terminals and in other large airports!
I decided I needed a balancing snack for this evenings flight instead of dinner. I am currently enjoying a “new to me” kombucha from Carpe Diem. The raspberry flavor is deliciously sweet and this kombucha has less vinegar flavor than previous kombuchas I have tried. I also enjoyed a string cheese on the side. I am still amazed by LaGuardia’s new healthy food options in the terminal! It makes flying a pleasure. Do you have healthy food options in your airport?
