I have some big news for the blog today! Big Big news.
It all started about a year ago. Around this time last year, I had no idea what my major was, let alone if I was going to graduate in 4 years. If you take a look at FFF circa February/March 2011 you will see that two big things happened to me that month.
A) The tentative proposal that I had written for my individualized degree got approved and I was ensured I would be graduating from the University of Minnesota in 4 years with a personalized degree. This also meant that I only had one more year of school left.
B.) My first post on Anytime Health was launched and the beginning of my professional/blogging career was about to explode in my face.
If you've been following FFF for the past year, you also know that after about a year of freelancing ( Click HERE to see all the articles I've written) for Anytime Fitness, I made them a little bit more permanent in my schedule and started interning with them this past winter. I really can't tell you how much I enjoy interning for them, but I can tell you that I will be FULL TIME EMPLOYED BY ANYTIME FITNESS CORP starting on JUNE 1st!
I got an official offer from them this week and my title is an Online Health Communications and Social Media Specialist. I am going to be doing exactly what I love to do: interacting in the health and wellness community online via social media. I actually can't believe that what I am doing is an official job. I am so thrilled to have a job secured for post graduation; I was starting to get very anxious and straight up nervous about graduating.
Anyways, graduation is May 14th and then I have a two week transition to enjoy myself before I start my "actual life." I can't get over the fact that life is just beginning. I'll probably head home to Milwaukee to spend time at my childhood home before my parents sell the house. Remember when I went to Cleveland? The time has come and the parents are officially moving to Ohio in August. I think them moving from Milwaukee to Ohio added to my anxiety about graduation and not having an official secured job or a place to live. Thankfully, this has lifted because I know that my home is here in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
After such an exciting day at work Blake and I decided it was more than necessary to whip out the grill for dinner. Actually, Blake had quite the exciting night himself. He got back his GMAT score and was very pleased with his results. Good things happen to hard workers.
We grilled some steaks seasoned with salt, pepper, and olive oil along with some shrimpies in a little bit of butter, lemon, salt, and pepper.
I also sauteed some veggies to go along with our feast of meat. In the mix was sweet potato, red potato, onion, mushrooms, and chickpeas. I seasoned it with olive oil, sat, lemon pepper, and a little bit of balsamic vinegar.
It seriously felt like Summer out. The sun was warm and it was in the upper 70's. Mind you I live in Minnesota where the average high in March is like 50.
Time for me to get my butt to the gym. B and I are heading down town for some St. Patty's Day festivities. Happy Weekend!
Ps...56 days until graduation, not like I'm counting or anything.
