Gloriously Sore and Lacing Up

Just another day of waking up at 5:00 am.  It was TOUGH to get up this morning, but I powered up with my Vega energizing smoothie and I was ready to GET AFTER IT.

I laced up my new Reebok CrossFit Nano 2.0 shoes.  These bad boys were an “investment” to put it lightly but I needed a shoe that was STABLE and FLAT.  My flimsy running shoes are NOT suitable and have me so off balance.

I’m really hoping these do the trick.  I had a bit of trouble and pain in the toes during burpees, but for lifts/squats/etc… they are seriously perfect.  I feel so legit having a “lifting-specific” pair of shoes.

This is getting REAL folks.

La la la.  I arrived at the Box to see THIS on the board.

70 KB Swings 53/35 (I did 18 lbs)
60 Wallballs 20/14 (I did 10 lbs)
50 Burpees
40 OHWL 20/14 (Overhead Wallball Lunges–I used 10 lbs)
30 Toes to bar (I did knees to chest)
20 HSPU (Handstand Pushup–I did a variation on a bench; similar sans handstand)
10 Muscle-ups (I did 30 pull-ups with resistance band–SUCH A CHALLENGE)

Well, I am now feeling gloriously… SORE. This was a long and intense workout.  I have a lot of stretching to do today.  I’ll play it by year as to if I need to take tomorrow off, or make it a light day/home workout.

I’m really starting to be in tune with myself and my body.  If I need rest, I am going to allow my body just that.  Health is so much more than rigorous fitness.  You have to LISTEN to what it tells you in all ways.

On a sidenote–I got home late last night and was STARVING.  In those moments, clean eating is such a challenge.  Ergo, I’m pretty proud of what I chose.

Especially with my new training regiment, properly fueling my body is SO important.  I am really starting to eat for fuel.  It’s such a transition that I am looking forward to sharing with all of you.

I can attribute a lot of my newly discovered mindset to a book that I am currently reading,  It Starts With Food .  I am highlighting, making notes, and obsessing over the GLORIOUS-NESS of this book.  I’ll share more as I get through it.  So get pumped for THAT!

With all that jazz in mind, my QOTD is this: Do you have workout-specific shoes? As in, do you have multiple pairs for different purposes?  I wish I could just have a pair that could transition exercise to exercise, but I think that is a stretch.
