Getting ready for a jailbreak

This Sunday my little family is finally heading out on our big road trip. For at least 3 months now my husband and I were planning this trip but something always stood in our way and didn’t let us begin our adventure. This trip will be a big challenge for us because we are taking our 11-months old twin-girls with us and they hate their car seats (I think Brian and I have the only babies in the world who completely hate their car seats and refuse to sleep in them). I really do not know how we are going to survive this trip but I am trying to be optimistic about this adventure.

I know that the reasonable question would be ‘Why are you going on this road trip anyway? Can’t you wait till your girls get older and all that?’ Actually, we can’t. Right now we live with my hubby’s parents (I can’t imagine that it has been already 5 months!!!!!) and we are ready to move on and get our own house. The problem is that we do not know where we would like to live. I arrived to the US just 5 months ago and everything here is so new to me. The other day Brian and I were looking at different towns along the coast trying to find our dream location. After 6 hours of staring at the computer screen our eyes were red, we were mad and tired and we didn’t find any good locations that would meet all our requirements. This is the main reason why we decided to go on this road trip – seeing places is much better that just reading about them. Right now we live in Charlotte, NC but we would like to move closer to the coast and further south (we absolutely despise cold weather after all those cold winters that we spent in Ukraine). Our trip will take us through Charleston, SC through Georgia to Florida – our final destination - and then we will head back to Charlotte. We are planning to spend about 2 weeks on the road and I hope that our babies won’t be totally mad at us.

I hope that this trip will fill me with new emotions, give me inspiration for new posts and finally show Brian and me our place and way in life. I already had one positive thing from this trip (even though it didn’t start yet), I lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks and now I feel more comfortable wearing my bathing suit at the beach. I tried a new weight loss strategy and it worked great for me because I managed to reach my 2 week goal. I will be glad to share this strategy after I get back from my trip. My next goal during this trip will be not to gain all these pounds back and I hope I will succeed here too.

In the meantime I have a small request to those readers who are following my blog (I really admire you guys because you can put up with such an inconsistent blogger like me), please leave a few comments saying what you would like to see on this blog. Again I am extremely grateful to every reader who comes back to Balance In Me and takes an interest in this blog. Thank you for being here and see you in 2-3 weeks.

Keep it balanced in the meantime!
