It's hard to find a flattering pair of shorts - they're either too long or too short or are snug in the wrong places. I rarely do high-impact exercise in shorts, but when I do, I like shorts that have a relaxed fit in the lower hem like Reebok's training shorts. For biking, look for shorts with a comfortable "chamois," the smooth covering over the crotch seams that keep the saddle from causing chafing and irritation. Runner's World recommends the Pearl Izumi Infinity shorts for long runs.
