Funky Dreams

Posted Feb 01 2012 10:17pm

Have you ever had one of those dreams that seep into reality?  Last night, I had one of those.  I was sleeping peacefully when suddenly I envisioned my teeth falling out!  Not a good sign, considering that dreams about losing teeth signify mortality!  Luckily, I’m not that superstitious and I’m pretty sure my dream was just a representation of my stress level from work.

Sleeping peacefully? Not me.

The weird thing was that this afternoon…my teeth fell out!  HA!  Just kidding.  :-D .  I actually got a call from my dentist saying that I was due for my biannual checkup.  It’s just coincidence, but I thought it was strange that I dreamed about my teeth crumbling to bits and subsequently received a call from the dentist’s office!  Needless to say I made an appointment for the week after next! :-)

Breakfast

After quite the resltess night, I postponed my morning workout to this evening, and opted for a quick breakfast before heading out.  I made myself a bowl of Great Grains Pecan Crunch cereal with Silk Soy Milk and added a bunch of grapes into the mix to get my fruit fix for the morning.

Since I skipped my gym session, I made it into the office early and got a headstart on work!

Lunch

Ah, lunch.  I look forward to you every day.  Today’s lunch was tuna salad atop a bed of spinach plus some grapes and a black cherry Greek yogurt.  I saved the yogurt for tomorrow because I wasn’t hungry enough for it today.

Workout

Once I arrived home, I took Sandy out for a 1/2 mile walk, fed her, then headed over to the gym.  Man was it hot and steamy in there.  Today was warm (high 70′s) and I don’t think the air conditioning was turned on yet so it felt humid.  I cranked up the fans above my treadmill to get some breeze, flipped on the Travel Channel, and began my workout.  I completed a 25 minute run alternating between 6.0 and 7.0 mph every couple of minutes.

After mopping the sweat off my face (gross), I used some of the weight machines to complete an upper body workout:

  • 10 lat pull-downs
  • 10 shoulder presses
  • 10 incline presses
  • 10 bicep curls
  • 10 tricep dips

I repeated this set three times before heading home.  It took some motivation to get to the gym after a long day of work, but I’m glad I did it!

Dinner was a Greek Salad, Chicken Poblano soup, and sweet potato fries eaten at New World Deli with Vince.  I forgot my camera though, so no pics!

Now I’m off to try and get some (hopefully) peaceful sleep!  Good night!

What’s the craziest dream you’ve ever had?  Do you tend to dream when you’re stressed?  The only times I ever dream are when I’m stressed.  Some recurring themes are being chased and falling.  I’d like to think of myself as a positive person, but for some reason I never have nice happy dreams!
