There are some people who think that fruits, vegetables, grains, seeds, and nuts are diet food. If anyone eats mostly plant-based foods, then why do some people label these foods as diet food?

Is it because these types of foods are low in fat and calories? I’m hear to tell you that plant-based food is not diet food.

The reason I am sharing this is because, someone sent me a guest post and mentioned that vegetables and grains are diet food. I couldn’t believe that someone would send a post with references of this in their article. Had they not read any of my posts?

**Whenever you submit guest posts to fellow bloggers, make sure you have actually read their blog articles and have a general idea of the blog owner’s mission.**

I got a little sidetracked, but I’m going somewhere with this. Fruits and vegetables and other plant-based foods are not diet foods. These foods give life to the body.

They give you something that processed foods cannot not possibly give you. They feed and nourish your body and provide your body with the good stuff. Sure they are low in fat and calories which helps one lose weight, but they don’t fall into the diet food category. Tasty Watermelon

What is diet food?

When I think of diet food, I think of food that someone is eating to lose weight, well, pre-packaged foods actually come to mind. Like those you see with Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Slim-fast, and so for and so on. By the way, those foods are junk. Just read the labels and see for yourself.

Whole plant-based foods have not been altered. There is no label that has ingredients that you cannot pronounce. Whole foods, straight from nature’s bounty are the ultimate foods that that the body truly needs. These foods have everything that your body needs, without all the added stuff.

Plant-based foods/whole foods are packed with vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, and other great stuff that is good for the body. Now do the so called pre-packaged foods that people, spend their hard earned dollars on, have these nutrients naturally within them? I don’t think so!

Conclusion

Plant-based foods are not diet foods. They are good for your diet and naturally provide your body with what it needs. If people keep thinking and saying that fruits and vegetables are diet foods, then this will cause most people to avoid them.  Don’t do your body a disservice!

If you want to become a healthier you, by all means increase your fruits and vegetable intake along with other plant-based foods.  You will definitely notice a difference within your overall well being.

The next time someone glances at your plate and says to you “that salad and fruit is diet food…you don’t need that.” You tell them that this food is life food, good for my body and it makes me feel amazing. You should try it sometime, you’ll be glad you did!
