Froyoz – A Great Treat Anytime

Posted Jan 03 2012 6:44am

Probably everyone has heard the phrase “froyo” – a shortened form of frozen yogurt. But have you heard of Froyoz? Froyoz is a self-self frozen yogurt store in the Bearden Earthfare shopping center. Let’s take a look around.

Froyoz has a bright colorful sign outside that once you are in the parking lot, you won’t miss. There is plenty of parking available and the Greenway actually passes by. Out for a walk, run, or bike? Bring some $$ and stop in for a treat.

Once you walk in, there is a sign with the flavors of the day. There are usually 12 different options and these change weekly. I would recommend that they publish the flavors each day on their Facebook page . You never know when someone might see their favorite flavor and drive right over. (Hint: Letting me know when you have the creamy peanut butter flavor would be a great idea!)

The first thing you do is MIX IT! I love these signs, they remind me of the game Bop It!

Don’t know what flavors you will like? Ask for sample cups. All of their yogurts and sorbets are low-fat or fat-free. Some of the flavors I tasted were:

Hershey’s Kiss – WOW! If you love chocolate, you will love this one.

Cinnamon Cookie – Tasted just like a snickerdoodle. YUMMY!

Very Berry Sorbet – I would have really loved to have had a glass of this and a straw. Tastes like a fabulous smoothie.

Outrageous Orange – Tastes like a dreamsicle. It and the Very Berry Sorbet swirled together is probably amazing.

Cake Batter – This is their #1 best seller. Interestingly, I wasn’t a huge fan. But, with 12 different flavors, you are sure to find 1 or 2 (or 10) that you do like.

Select 1 or 2 or 3 or more yogurts, in your cup, then after you Mix It, you Top It!

Froyoz really has an impressive amount of toppings for you to choose from. Along with your “regular” toppings like chocolate sprinkles, heath bar, chocolate chips, etc., they have:

Grasshopper Cookies
Bubble Gum
Sour Slices
Chocolate Cheerios
Vanilla Wafers

Also, I was very impressed by their “liquid” toppings – Ghiradelli!!! Chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel. The amount of toppings available is quite impressive. They even have cold fruit (strawberries, cherries, etc.) available. I mean, who doesn’t like to top off the finished product with a cherry or two.

After you have added toppings til your heart’s content, it is time to Weight It!

The pricing is based strictly on weight. Want just a little? Pay a little. Want a whole lot? Well, you get the picture. They also have drinks available for sale (water, G2, Coke, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper).

After you pay, have a seat in their seating area. They have games available for you to play. Unlike some food places, they don’t try to rush you through any step of this experience. Take your time and have fun!

My final product:

I had Cinnamon Cookie with Hershey’s Kiss on top covered with items like mini Reese Pieces, Heath Bar, Ghiradelli Caramel, and a few cherries. And yes, I ate every last bite. It was delicious. Perfect for dessert or when you just need a little treat.

I definitely recommend trying Froyoz out. They are at:

124 North Forest Park Blvd
Knoxville, TN 37919
Phone: 865-602-7711

Grab a friend and go try some Froyoz this week!

Today’s talking point: What is your favorite froyo flavor?
