Fro Yo and Champy

Posted Jun 26 2011 12:00am

When I woke up this morning and reflected back to the awesome day I had yesterday, two things stood out in my mind, fro and champy…yep, that’s pretty much what my day consisted of, and I enjoyed every moment of it :)

But first, let’s start from the beginning.  My sister, mom and I went to Fresh Choice for lunch where they have an amazing salad bar and none other than amazing frozen yogurt.  They have soup, pizza, bread, pasta, etc., but honestly though, the only thing I really look forward to when going there is  making one heck of a salad beast and loading up on their awesome dessert bar…

I loaded up my salad with red bell peppers, peas, beets, broccoli, carrots, and croutons with extra on the side because I love my croutons…and those lil brown specs, those would be crouton crumbs…awesomeness ;)   It was then topped off with a mix of both balsamic and ranch dressing…and clearly I had no troubles demolishing this beast of a salad…

Sometimes eating salads and veggies in a big amount will upset my tummy but this one here had no effects and my tummy was more then ready for dessert, round #1

Vanilla frozen yogurt with a cone on the side…I like to keep the cone on the side because I find it more fun to eat that way…is that weird? ;)

And since we can grow an extra stomach when it comes to dessert, normally we’d have round #2 there, but we had plans to take our second round of dessert to a new to town self serve frozen yogurt spot… Nubi Yogurt !!

That there is peanut butter flavored frozen yogurt (best pb I’ve had around here!), topped with peanuts, heath bar crunch crumbles, butterfinger crumbles, and a couple lil chocolate turtle candies.  So so good…we all left with full content bellies and Nubi Yogurt got an A+!  We’ll definitely return again :)

Next on the agenda was to get our nails pretty at our fav nail salon, Bella Nails

Once done there, we said goodbye to our mom and then it was time for the sisters to party!!  But first, a champy toast…

If any of you like sweet champagne, you gotta give this stuff a try…Barefoot Bubbly Moscato Spumante…it’s sweet and delicious, just the way we like it :)

Once we finished our glasses we continued the party to The Cask , a wine bar with an amazing assortment of bubbles and wine and they offer flight tastings which sounded right up our alley…we were in the mood for a lil variety and felt like giving our tastebuds a variety of options ;)

For the best of both worlds we decided to get a flight tasting of “Delicious Whites” and “Bubbles”…the tastings look huge in the pictures but shared between us it was the perfect amount and variety.

The sisters enjoying our tastings…weeeeee!!

Once we finished our tastings, we continued our party extravaganza to my hubby’s cousin house…his cousin is in the process of renovating their roof so hubby was there all day working his (now sun burnt) booty off…after a day of laborious roofing work the boys were more than ready to get the party started…

On the left is hubby (Todd), right is his cousin Doug, and in the middle is his son Connor.  By the way, Connor is an amazing musician who is drummer in the band Picture Me Broken …check ‘em out if you get a chance, good stuff.  Last year they even won the MTV Award for Break Out Artist.

Chit chatting and bbq’ing = The Good Life :)

Me with Cousin Laura (Doug’s wife), and Doug looking at us like we’re weirdos and hubby looks spent from the day’s shenanigans ;)

Boys doing what they do best, bbq’ing!!

…and the girls doing what they do best, laughing and having a fun time together :)

We then feasted on some amazing bbq chicken, avocado egg salad, and coleslaw…this blogger here was bad and didn’t snap any pics of my food, but you can be well assured that we stuffed our bellies with that amazing food.  It was an awesome day and night indeed…full of champy, fro yo, and good times with family and friends = the good life :)
