Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I did not do much since I had a stomach virus but I at least got some extra blogging in. I wanted to share about an event I attended last week called the Frigidaire “I (heart) Induction” cocktail event at Desiron Gallery in Soho.
Event Details:
Celebrity Chef Anne Burrell will be creating an appetizer and entrée scrumptious enough to seduce your loved one, while Chef Johnny Iuzzini whips up a few quick and fabulous deserts to satisfy your loved one’s sweet tooth! The chef’s will be demonstrating why they “heart” induction during a cocktail party, aimed at helping you create the perfect romantic meal for your significant other.
Since I have no idea how to cook and was definitely interested in learning how to seduce my loved one with food, I gladly accepted the invitation. Any blog event with “cocktail” in the name will most likely get me there without having to think twice. I invited Marina since I am too shy to go to these things alone and we both love events like this. One of the best parts of the night was the complimentary car service! The car picked us up right in front of my job at 5pm. We definitely felt special.
Marina heading to our car…no, not the UPS truck.
The driver probably thought we were nuts since we were taking so many pictures of his car! Hey, personal car service does not happen every day!
We walked into the gallery and admired the pretty furniture while enjoying some wine.
I kind of just wanted to get in bed. Oh wait, I’m at a blog event. Scratch that.
Eventually we headed downstairs where there was a beautiful food spread, a wine bar, and ahem, hot bartenders.
I made a pretty plate with veggies, cheese, and hummus.
There were professional cameras filming everyone so I’m waiting to see if we will end up on their website or on the Food Network !
Anne Burrell made several different dishes using an Electrolux Induction Cooktop .
What is Induction?
Cooks who are new to induction cooking will realize its benefits immediately — faster, more responsive heating, more energy-efficient cooking, and easier cleanup. Induction Technology uses electromagnetic energy to transfer heat directly from your cookware and allows you to instantly adjust the heat from a delicate simmer to a quick boil.
Because the cookware heats more quickly than on gas or electric cooktops, cook times are faster, meaning less energy is used. Faster, more energy-efficient — what more could you ask for?
Okay, I was honestly more focused on the hot men serving us the food so I did not really learn how to cook during this event! Oh well! They passed around samples of every dish Anne Burrell was creating.
This was some sort of fennel salad but I did not go near it since there was a giant olive on top.
I did love her spaghetti and meat sauce!! Only problem- a little too messy to eat at an event like this.
Next, Chef Johnny Iuzzini ”whipped up a few quick and fabulous deserts to satisfy my loved one’s sweet tooth!”
He definitely satisfied my sweet tooth but my loved one will not be getting any of these special desserts! Sorry!
This was the best dish of the night! It was baked apples, pound cake, and peanut butter ice cream I believe. So good!
The chocolate dessert with warm bananas inside was quite amazing too!
We met Gina of Skinny Taste (super sweet) and also saw Ashley from Healthy Happier Bear !
At the end of the event, I was secretly trying to get pictures of the cute bartenders just to show all of you and Anne Burrell happened to jump in the pictures! Notice clueless hot bartender in background. Yum.
We left with some awesome swag.
I definitely enjoyed my car service back to Queens! Amazing!
So while I still have no clue how to cook, I really enjoyed all of the food (and wine) at the event and met some really nice bloggers. Private car service, free wine, professional chefs cooking for me, sexy bartenders…what’s not to love?
Have you heard of Induction cooking?
What will you be cooking for Valentine’s Day?
