Friday links: Finding the Work-Life Balance

We may have mentioned this before (ahem), but WELLalarm™ finally launched last week! The final push to go live took an incredible amount of time and effort, for me as well as my colleagues. Now that we're up and running I can stop, take a breath, and think about that ever-elusive work/life balance.

I found these five tips for creating a work/life plan on Diving Caroline. (This is an intriguing website, by the way. You can sign in and share stories with other women. I'd like to spend more time perusing it... if only I could find the time!)

Here is a list of 7 Habits of Highly Efficient People from Quick and Simple. This is not about working fast; it's about working smart. I especially like #3, "Follow your natural rythms."

This gave me a chuckle. I'm sure this is a useful tool, but doesn't the idea of calculating your work/life balance seem a little antithetical to the goal?

Inc.com has several articles about maintaining the work/life balance especially for entrepreneurs like me.

According to this Fast Company article, balance is bunk -- but you can find ways to work hard and be happy anyway. It is a little cynical but also relieves the pressure to make the "balance" aspect of my life perfect.

Dana Boyd asks, can you maintain balance while you're "in the flow"? Good luck finding your own balance!
