Well hello. Great to be sitting down to write to you all tonight.
There has been a lot going on lately! A lot of good, some challenging, but overall I have been feeling very grateful.
Yoga teacher training started up again this past weekend. I didn’t think I would be teaching at this point when I started last fall. In fact, when I started a few months ago my feelings were more like “oh crap! this is so much to learn, how will I ever memorize this flow and everything with it?” Going into TT I kind of thought I’d have a leg up being a trainer for so long but I felt once I started that it was a whole other ballgame! However, many of the yogi’s who came before me were right. I learned it and I am now teaching! It felt good to pay it forward and be helpful to the newer teachers in the training, giving them the tid bits of advice and feedback that was so valuable to me. I am so grateful for the community and for the friends I’ve made that have helped me, and continue to help and encourage me. And now to be able give the gift of teaching what I feel so much in love with. It’s just so wonderful. Yogis really are the best.
My friend Kristin posted this on instagram and I am just obsessed with it. Yoga tanks need to be made. It’s right up there with my “Namaste, Bitches” shirt.
I’ve been working on trying to find good music for my power yoga classes. I find too much music with lyrics distracts me, so I throw in as much instrumental stuff as I can. It sounds cheesy, but there are some great songs and I can’t find some of the instrumental versions from the original artists so I have to use these karaoke versions. Shhhhhhhhhh, don’t tell anyone!
Any music suggestions are welcomed times a million! I am struggling a little. This playlist is exactly an hour long. I added a bunch of instrumental from a CD I have called “Ahanu: Music for Yoga” that I had in iTunes from a million years ago. It is all actually pretty nice for when we get into the backbends and beyond.
What else is happening in my life? Sleep training issues which I won’t go into again now. I wrote out what’s been happening but hesitate to share it just yet. I’m pretty open about it, but it’s long and I am not sure you all really want to read an 800 word play by play of me sleeping on Ella’s floor this past week. That and going to bed when she goes to bed. Fun times.
Other than that I’m pretty boring, guys. I made an amazing adaption of Lisa’s PB cups (again!) that turned out incredible. Seriously coconut butter is my new favorite thing and it makes everything so so so so so so so good. You can make it home made , but the Artisina is better I have to say. And maing it really isn’t too healthy for your Vitamix. No matter what they say out there. I was told by professionals after learning the hard way! he best way to make coconut butter is with a stone grinder…unless you’re making my chocolate version of course..there’s enough give in that recipe to keep it smooth sailing.

1 TBSP raw honey (or a few drops of stevia to taste)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
a dash of cinnamon
a pinch of sea salt
1 TBSP unsweetened cocao powder
I follow much of Lisa’s method, but I make it all at once. I heat all the ingredients, excluding the cocoa powder over low heat in a small saucepan. I divide it in half and pour half the batter into two muffin cups, and set the other aside. Freeze the first half, meanwhile add the cocoa powder to the other half. Once it sets in the freezer add the chocolate layer to the top of the nut butter layer and freeze for an additional 10 minutes until set. So delicious and addicting!
