Such a rainy Sunday here....but I like it, got LOADS of cleaning done this weekend, so I can just be lazy relax today. Michael wants to see Robin Hood, so we may check out a Matinee....
~Ladies~ Feeling a lil' lot crampy ...between my super kick butt workouts this weekend and some "natural" inevitable pains...I am hurting....oh, and now understand why I was noshing craving sweet and savory all week!
Since I gave up dairy (for the most part), and meat (again), my sweets cravings have kinda went into remission....yesterday, however, I couldn't resist the leftover (fresh) vanilla chocolate chip dairy ice cream from a local place (Michael brought home), and man, even though I only had about a cup, my tummy paying for it today!!!!- (so yummy though, but I KNOW now, especially since cutting WAY back on dairy, how that much of it effects me--if I do cheese, it's so little, and the rest of my diet is super clean, & usually does not get too effected.)
How I feel today is enough motivation to lay off for a while! Only home-made, non-dairy creamy treats in my Vitamix ... if I'm in "the mood." For the most part, I was able to combat my usual symptoms -& squeezing in at least 15 minutes of gentle yoga before we head out will be great!
Michael, Munchkin and I are going to have our own little series finale party...gotta make we do an Island appropriate dinner tonight ;-)
Anyone see Dinner Impossible last week?? Robert Irving is amazing! I rarely watch, but my husband loves the show. They did a LOST challenge last week....he had to build a kitchen from scratch using stuff from a local hardware store. The food was only things found on the Island...and they threw a curve ball in the middle with a random "Dharma" food drop....and he had to incorporate all of it!
I read books...I swear!!! And lots of educational TV-- & Actually have SUPER Exciting news!!!
I just found out that a documentary is coming out THIS SUMMER, based on one of my recent favorites, and another major motivator to continue to cut out most animal protein (with the exception of certain " occassionals .")--I definitely have put down the Knife again , for good!!!!
The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell.
The film is called FORKS OVER KNIVES coming Summer 2010....but that's all I know! I put myself on the list to get info on where I can see it or when I can order the DVD! So excited!!!
Forks Over Knivesexamines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the so-called “diseases of affluence” that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline in the film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering yet under-appreciated researchers, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.
Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, Obesity, Auto-Immune Disease, Rising Health Care Cost, ...is there one simple solution to these problems?
^Check out the Trailer!!!!! Let me know what you think???
