Forget New Year’s Resolutions, You Need A Word Of The Year. Pick It Here…

Posted Jan 03 2013 2:30pm

Word Of The Year

I was first introduced to the Word Of The Year concept a few years ago when I attended the Institute For Integrative Nutrition . This is a really fun way to set your intentions and theme for the New Year, or any other life event for that matter.

I’m telling you that you don’t need resolutions because most people just make them up because society tells us that’s what we should do. If you have a really spectacular New Year’s Resolution that’s great! If not, don’t feel like you need to make one up just to fit in with the rest of the planet.

Picking a Word Of The Year is an excellent way to do this. You may just have one word that really sticks out to you for your 2013 theme, if that’s the case, just choose one. Or, you might have a grouping of words or set of themes that you want to intend – it’s totally up to you.

Choose anywhere from one to five words that really speak to how you want 2013 to look. Nouns, verbs, anything – just words that feel good to you. Don’t get caught up in the grammar. Then write these words on a pretty note card and stick it to your bathroom mirror or anywhere else you’ll see it everyday. Some other ideas are on your car’s sun visor, your office wall, or make them your computer desktop photo.

I’d LOVE to know what your Word(s) of 2013 are – leave them here in the comments for me and other readers to see. Speaking them into the Universe is a beautiful way to get things flowing.

In light and love,
