When I was little I used to go in my mom's bathroom and open the magical cabinets under her sink, that's where she housed all of her lipsticks she received from cosmetic specials. She taught me very early to make sure to roll down the lipstick before smushing the cap back on and that bright pink colors were for 2 people; my great aunt and grandma. She would put those aside and we would save them to bring each time we visited, only after I had tried them myself (picture a small child with four or five colors on all at once).
My beauty routine started early with lip smackers in delicious flavors like bubblegum, cherry, Dr. Pepper, and watermelon (I know you all remember). We used to collect them like trading cards. Then it progressed to the very light shimmer lip glosses from Clinique and Revlon, this is when it got really excited. I stuck to lipgloss until about a year or two ago, lipstick was for grown-ups, that's what my mom and grandma wore.
While preparing for my wedding beauty routine I ventured into the world of lipsticks, lip stains, and lip liners! I guess I am a grown up. Most recently I came across YSL Rouge Volupte and it is creamy. Creamy in a long-lasting, good smelling, color-rich, velvety smooth kind of way.
I purchased Color 01: Nude Beige. It provides a more pink color than it suggests. It gives just enough pop of color for everyday wear.
