Back from vacation and things are getting (mostly) back to normal around here. That being said, I did have an oatmeal raisin walnut cookie for breakfast
At least I threw a smoothie in there for good measure. Now that’s a post-vacation breakfast if I ever saw one.
Internet access over the weekend was a little spotty and I was having some trouble publishing with WordPress (for those of you who subscribe to the blog I apologize for sending out a duplicate post last night) so if you missed any of my vacation recap you can catch up here if you’d like:
I had such a great time – it was a much needed getaway with my family.
Now, let’s get down to a little business shall we? Earlier this month I signed up to participate in the Foodie Penpals Program. Foodie Penpals is the brainchild of Lindsay who wanted to create a monthly program for bloggers and foodies to exchange fun food items and expose one another to things they may not have otherwise never tried.
The way it works is that you sign up to send a box and receive a box (from two different people). I had the pleasure of putting together a box for Lindsay of Lindsay’s List . You can pop on over to her blog to see what I sent (I took a big chance on sending a TJ’s dark chocolate truffle bar but sadly it melted. Luckily, Lindsay was able to brush it off and enjoy the rest of the package anyway -what a sport!)
My food filled package came courtesy of Emily all the way from Virginia Beach. Check out the goods!
KIND bars, a Bora Bora bar, popchips (!), saltwater taffy and cookies! This was right up my alley.
The cookies from Alternative Baking Company were new to me and definitely a favorite.
You might recognize the one on the bottom from this morning’s breakfast
The Bora Bora and KIND bars saved my butt a few times last week when I was crazy busy at work and Alan and I shared the coconut macaroon cookie while relaxing and enjoying some late night TV a couple weekends ago.
(I may or may not have dipped little pieces of it into the butter jar – omg delicious)
I brought the saltwater taffy and popchips along to California as road trip snacks to share with the fam – they were a hit.
Major thanks to Emily for all the delicious snacks and a big thanks to Lindsay for putting together the Foodie Penpals program! Such a fun idea – I highly encourage you to check it out - you don’t have to be a blogger to participate!
Hope you’re all having a wonderful Tuesday and a great week so far!
I’ll be back later with some tips for getting back on track with healthy habits after vacation. See you in awhile!
