I could not have thought of a better day to go floating than yesterday. With the heat reaching a whooping 108F, spending the day in the Comal River was welcomed by everybody!
Before we headed out, I made sure to slather on a ton of sunscreen and then headed out to meet up with the group!
Don't laugh at the SPF 100+
About 15 of us met up at noon to carpool down to New Braunfels, a city about an hour south of Austin. We drove to Texas Tubes to pick up our tubes and coolers, and I think we hit the water at around 2pm when the sun was seriously scorching.
One of my friends brought some alcohol-infused Capri Sun (remember these?!) and fruit which turned out to be a huge hit. I haven’t had Capri Sun since I was a child, but it was a whole lot different than I remember . All of us had a great time bobbin down the cool river with our drinks!
We finished tubing around 6:00pm and I came home to get showered and changed for a Going-Away Party.
Still with wet hair but that's OK
By the end of the night, I was absolutely exhausted! After running 7 miles, floating, and partying, I crashed into bed!
I woke up about half an hour ago and have been taking care of some emails. I’m off to make some breakfast and then head out for another busy day! Enjoy your Sundays!
