Fleet Feet Burbank

It’s been awhile!

Life is good and hectic and full but I’m back to tell you about the AMAZING experience I had at Fleet Feet in Burbank last week.

A few weeks ago I got an invitation to go try out the FIT process at Fleet Feet Burbank. Burbank is a bit of a hike from Santa Monica, so I took the opportunity to head over last week on my day off and see what the process all about.

Sam, the Marketing Manager who had reached out to me, explained their FIT Philosophy as follows:

The Fleet Feet Sports FITLOSOPHY™ is our commitment to the concept of a proper FIT in all aspects of our lives – from our commitment to helping you find the proper FIT for your running shoes, to assisting you in determining how running, walking, or an active lifestyle fits into your life. Simply stated, FITLOSOPHY™ is our FIT Philosophy and our approach to everything we do.

I was intrigued. I’d never been to a Fleet Feet before, so I headed over and was greeted by a very friendly staff ready to help me find a pair of running shoes.

First, they set me up with John, who measured my feet – something I don’t think I’ve had done in at least 10 years. I was interested to find my feet differ by almost a half size, but glad to learn that I’ve been running in the correct size shoe.

Next John watched me walk across the store twice barefoot. He said I had a fairly neutral gait and suggested a neutral shoe (something I’ve already been wearing, so good to confirm that I’ve been doing something right).

He brought me three different pairs of shoes and I tried each one, took it out for a run around the block and it was no contest – the Mizunos were by far the lightest and most comfortable.

Overall I was super impressed by the knowledgeable and thorough staff – I really felt like they took their time with me to make sure I got what I needed and knew what they were talking about.  I even met the owner, Colin on my way out – he couldn’t have been more friendly. I walked away feeling really confident that I was taken care of. I loved that it felt like my neighborhood running store – something I haven’t found here yet. If only it was actually in my neighborhood – but that definitely won’t stop me from making a trip next time I need running shoes.

Thanks so much to Sam, John, Colin and Fleet Feet in Burbank for an amazing experience!

*In exchange for this review I received a free pair of shoes and socks but all opinions are always my own.
