Fitness Magazine Fitterati Blogger Awards

Last week, I was flipping through the latest issue of my Fitness  subscription. (Side note: How amazing does Rebecca Romijn look?! I loved her interview too! Her approach to exercise is beautiful, she is so personable and is such a girl’s girl. An ideal cover model choice!) Okay, sorry back to last week.

As I was taking a break from studying weight management, I came across this pretty notification, which immediately intrigued me.

Fitness is hosting their first-ever Fitterati Blogger Awards  and YOURS TRULY is nominated for Best Healthy Living Blog ! I can’t really express what this means to me. Actually, I take that back; I totally can: EVERYTHING! There are two winners from each of the six categories: readers’ pick and editors’ pick. All winners will become part of Fitness’ Fitterati blogger network, have a feature in an upcoming issue of Fitness and a feature on Fitness’ web site. Um, hello dream, how’s it going?!

It has been a goal of mine to write for a fitness magazine for as long as I can remember. I have always loved putting pen to paper about things I am passionate about. Now, studying nutrition and journalism, I am certainly setting my sights on freelance writing for fitness publications. I can’t tell you how important this is to me and I would love for you to take a minute to vote ! YOU make this community what it is: special and ours to share. We can do this! We are in this together!

I am in the company of some incredible women who have inspired me to start this blog, so I can’t possibly finish this post without mentioning them: 

Caitlin , author of Healthy Tipping Point, is a total rock star. She has inspired me and so many other women to love their naked faces and appreciate their own unique beauty. Caitlin has her personal definition of “healthy” down to a T. I just adore her!

Amanda , author of Run to the Finish, and myself have recently become bloggie friends! She asked me to jump onboard her 30-day Vegan Challenge, in an effort to raise awareness and help promote plant-based eating. I was totally honored. She is so great at organizing community-based events on her blog and I love that about her.

Carla , author of MizFitOnline, is a super sexy fitness warrior! She is a mother, personal trainer, bodybuilding competitor and a genius at community-building. She is always giving back and encouraging others to find their own path in their journey to a healthier, better quality of life. AMEN!
