Fit Bit Friday 122: The 12 Days of Christmas Workout

‘Twas the Friday before Christmas…… and I’ve been packing like a mad woman in prep for my flight this weekend!!! I told myself last weekend that I’d be super prepared this time around and get all my packing done early, but who was I kidding – even me, the planniest of planners, did not make that happen. Craziness aside, I’m SO looking forward to relaxing and seeing my family over the next little while.

While I’m getting my workout from running around my house throwing things into my suitcase, doing laundry (does anyone else hate coming home from holiday to dirty sheets?), and checking 6 squillion times that I’ve packed my passport, I have a different workout for YOU!

Work It Out

Yes, I know we have far fewer days left until Christmas, but it seemed to be the only title I could come up with for this week’s routine. If you’re an at-home workout fan, you’ll enjoy this one. I’ve noted a few ways to make it more challenging but you can totally do the whole thing without any equipment at all and still feel like you’ve worked hard.

The 12 Days of Christmas Workout

Start with a light cardio warm up, then do the first move, the 1 minute wall sit. Progress through all of the moves that follow, moving immediately from one to the next, circuit-style. When you’ve reached the end of the 12 mountain climbers, take a minute or two to recover and rehydrate, then jump straight into another round. Complete the circuit 3 times, then cool down.

Turn It Up

I’ve featured a lot of Kelly Clarkson songs here on Fridays in the past, but I couldn’t resist another one. Kelly (who happens to be a newly wed and is expecting a baby) just released a new special edition Christmas album, Wrapped In Red. This song, Underneath the Tree , was played approximately 18933406 times in my house over the weekend and I’m STILL listening to it. The best bit of the whole song is at approximately 3:10, but the whole thing is pretty darn fabulous. Let me know what you think!
