Fish baked in Sea salt

After much contradiction of thinking that cooking fish this way would make it salty – trying it proved wrong.

Cooking fish this way is SO simple. So if you like the seafood taste give this recipe a try

Ingredients

Small to medium sized fish (cleaned)

Mint

tarragon

lemon

olive oil

onion

rock salt (lots of it)

Time to prepare 15 mins

Time to cook 60-90 in a moderate oven

Fish baked in salt

Take your fish and stuff it with onion, herbs, a few thin slices of lemon. Add a little olive oil inside the fish. Do not make the fish too wet inside.

Take a baking dish and make a bed of salt about 1.5 cms thick

Place fish onto the bed of salt

Then cover the fish with more rock salt and press it down.

Put into the oven

Fish in rock salt

Once done 90 mins later – crack open the salt and the fish will be there in full. Break away excess salt with your fingers and serve fish on a plate like normal
