Fashionable Please?

Posted Aug 31 2010 12:00am 3 Comments

Food is my fashion placing me in unfortunate circumstances with my actual fashion.

Recently while reading Julie’s blog I found out about RuLaLa where they sell top designer clothing, shoes, and accessories at lower prices. I have enjoyed looking at all the fashionable clothing they have but I still have trouble justifying my spending on high fashion items when I don’t really have a place to wear them.

Another blog I recently found and LOVE to death due to her keen insight to fashionable clothing at decent prices is  J’s everyday fashion . J lists the prices of  each item and puts together different outfits for different occasions such as work, play, and business.

I wish I had her sense of fashion! I want to start working on it.

I am not ashamed to say my favorite places to shop are TJMaxx, Marshalls, and Ross. The other  places I buy my clothes from are Victoria Secret, banana republic for pants because they seem to be one of the only stores that fit me, and forever 21 for night clothes.

Most of my clothes consist of workout gear and bathing suits. I hate shopping so I rarely go. I would much rather grocery shop everyday then go shopping.

After dabbling into my inner girliness I came across another great site for designer clothes and accessories at great prices. The site is called Ideeli and is very similar to the RuLaLa site.

After work tonight I was looking at the e-mail I received for today’s sales and found these sexy black Guess heals on sale for 34.00 dollars. I really like them but my size is on a waiting list.

How do you feel about them?? Is it worth it?

So while I debate on whether I want these shoes I will give you an insight on my idea of fashion…. FOOOD!

A few weeks ago I was in charge of cooking dinner for the family one night yet we did not have many groceries but I did not want to have to go to the grocery store so I did what I do best and created a healthy recipe with the ingredients we had on hand.

Creation =

  • Cut up the veggies -onions, peppers, mushrooms

Sauté the ground meat ( I used lean deer burger because it’s all we had at the house but you can use turkey, beef, or chicken). Add Mexican seasoning of any sort.

Take meat out of pan and sauté the vegetables for a good 3-5 minutes until the onions are slightly translucent.

Then layer spinach in bottom of pot, place meat on top, layer of vegetables, repeat until filling is gone.

Top with cheese ( I used Colby jack slices because that’s all we had but I would use shredded Mexican blend if I had it on hand)

Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes covered in foil.

Take out of oven place on table and serve over a bed of spring mix with tortilla chips on table for scooping up the extra goodness.

Recommended chips:

We also had low fat sour cream and Greek yogurt on the table !

* I would consider adding avocado, extra salsa, black olives, black beans and whatever other toppings you would like *

Hope you try this dish it is well worth it. Also, the clothing sites are really great deals and I highly recommend visiting them; don’t miss out!

Thanks so much for the shout-out! I totally agree that ideeli is a great site and RueLaLa, not so much... The shoes are super-cute, did you wind up getting them? The price is right, but even more important to ask yourself if you would actually wear them?

Wearing designer clothing is about making a fashion statement. Designer clothing caters a large variety of tastes from Hip Hop to famous Italian designers. Wearing designer clothes is all about looking good and flaunting the fact that you can afford to wear a designer label.

sorry i'm just now getting back to you. They ended up not having my size but I probably wouldn't wear them seeing as I dont' live anywhere where they would be necessary right now. Oh well maybe next time. Keep up the great advice!
