If there’s anything better than the food at home, it’s the family time.
The family time this evening couldn’t be beat—there was a delicious home-cooked meal, lots of cute dogs, and even a little activity.
Jeremy’s dad cooked a big meal for the whole family. I certainly don’t get this kind of good food in Japan, so I ate as much as I could. The meal ended with me stuffed and ready for a big nap.
Obviously, as a vegetarian, I chose to not partake in the hamburgers and hotdogs, but Jeremy’s dad was really understanding. He grilled up two “chicken” patties so I could have my own burger.
The coolest part of this meal was knowing the corm and green beans all came from the family garden.
Even Jake knew that was too good to pass up.
Having the dogs around all the time has been wonderful. I really miss them when we’re gone. There’s nothing like the friendship of a dog.
After dinner, we played a few rounds of Hillbilly Golf. I’m hopelessly terrible at it, but the game is a lot of fun.
Other notable meals today included:
Reheated pasta from our first night home + a big ass salad for lunch.
Blueberry Harvest Grain ‘n Nut pancakes from IHop with fresh strawberries and Fage Greek yogurt on top.
This was my first taste of Fage and I really loved the flavor and consistency.
For anyone interested in my new haircut, here’s a quick shot:
I’m really digging the shorter hair. It so much easier to deal with and not nearly as miserably hot.
6 miles are on the schedule for tomorrow morning AND my bestest friend is returning home from her honeymoon. Better hit the sack before the fun begins.
