Yikes! I didn’t even realize it’s been almost a week since my last rest day until I hobbled out of yoga last night. I just couldn’t pass up my Thursday morning run with Anne though, so I sucked it up and squeezed 1 more workout out of my tired legs this morning… and then I really hobbled home, to my foam roller.
Foam rolling, also known as the poor man’s massage, is probably one of my favorite ways to end a tough workout. Rolling your muscles helps get out the knots and tightness as well as helps with recovery time.
I rolled around on this baby for a solid 12 minutes before hopping in the shower this morning and my legs are thanking me for it!
Anne actually did a faboosh video on foam rolling so those of you who aren’t familiar with it can check it out!
On to Today’s Tastes:
Breakfast:Homemade granola (with dried cherries and hazelnuts) and organic, low-fat vanilla yogurt
Lunch: Ham, salami & Arugula sandwich on high fiber bread… with kettle cooked potato chips, obvi.
I don’t quite know what dinner tonight will look like since I have some studying to do after work for a biochemistry quiz tomorrow. I’m thinking it might be a frozen/drefrosted Mushiago veggie burger and some sort of salad.
Studying biochemistry is a total drag sometimes all the time – but least my toes are cute!
as cute as they can be, at least. I’m loving this color, Really Red by Essie . It just speaks Fall to me.
Well folks, time to get to work! Hope you have a fabulous rest of your Thursday.
Do you foam roll after tough workouts? Has it helped you with sore muscles and recovery?
Hi guys! How are you today? I’m feeling great but really sore. Gee, I wonder why.
