Evolution Fitness Orlando Anniversary

Posted Aug 15 2013 11:06am
Congratulations to Evolution Fitness Orlando on its 1 year anniversary!
When Kyle and I opened our own small business it was a scary venture.  We had a dream, he had a vision, we had a business plan, and the support of friends and family.  I 100% believed that Kyle had the work ethic and the skills to be successful, but it's always scary to make that "leap". I was in school full time and not making a steady income, but the timing was right and we opened Evolution Fitness Orlando in July of 2012.
Last weekend we celebrated our one year anniversary with close to 90 clients and friends at Rosen's Shingle Creek resort.  We thought it was important to celebrate and thank those clients who made this dream possible.

We had a fun event that included some corn hole, volleyball, basketball, and good food.
We wanted to have yummy, yet healthy food so we had platter of fruit and vegetables with a roasted red pepper hummus that everyone raved about. We also served chicken kabobs and 3 varieties of the " perfect pizza " that's made with whole wheat crust and turkey pepperoni.
And there might have been a cake...that was heavenly...
Thank you also to Kind, Designer Whey, and Chobani who donated goodies for our clients to take home!
We also celebrated those clients that earned the "Beast Mode" award for training with Kyle for over 5 years.
Thank you so much to all of our clients who came out to support Team Evo.  We hope you had a great time!
It's hard for me to express how proud I am of Kyle.  Evo would not be the success it is without him.  He is the definition of hard work and integrity.  He is working close to 14 hours Monday - Thursday and he never complains.  Every clients gets the same level of energy and excitement and the same focused training.
I also need to thank all the people who made this business successful from the start.  From Kyle's Dad who scoured over our Proforma's and drove around to look at places to lease to Kyle's mentors who took time out of their busy schedules to meet with Kyle and share their knowledge.
Kyle and his Dad
Two pieces of advice that came from those meetings stuck with us. One, if you're opening a business just to make money, you won't be successful.  Making money can be one outcome, but your goal needs to be to live your passion.  Two, don't spend more than you can afford to.  We took no loans to open our business.  We saved money, bought equipment over the course of 16 months, and that means we are free and clear from the first day on.
If you are interested in being a personal trainer or even opening your own facility don't hesistate to ask us questions.  We are still a work in progress and we welcome the chance to learn and grow more.
If you want to be in the fitness business, however this is what i urge you - truly love the business and the science behind it.

Proper training done with passion can change lives.  Kyle does it every day.

What's a dream you have in your career?
If you could open a business what would it be?

Love and evolution,
Carissa & Kyle
