End to a Really Hectic Week

Posted Oct 12 2012 7:35am

Did you miss me yesterday?  I decided I needed to take a day off from the blog for my own sanity.  Due to my hectic schedule this week, I really needed some time to sleep and relax.  This morning I still feel overly tired and not fully rested, but hopefully I can spend this weekend sleeping.

I was up at 5am this morning and opted for an easy 3 mile jog.  I haven’t run since my interval training on Tuesday, and felt I needed to get one last run in before my 10K tomorrow. While I didn’t have time to get an actual workout in yesterday, I definitely stayed very active for a few hours.  Our managers put together a team building scavenger hunt around the city for us.  At first I wasn’t really looking forward to it, but then decided half a day off work to run around the city is not to shabby.

My team opted for the name Love, Sweat, and Beers… We were going to wear neon workout bands, but couldn’t find any so we found this green foam tape stuff and used that as our “flare.”

We thought we were doing really good the entire time, since we didn’t really see any other teams on our hunt… turns out we didn’t see any other teams because we were so far behind everyone and came in dead last. :(  Major fail on the scavenger hunt, but  still a good time regardless.  here are some of the pictures from the day…

After the scavenger hunt we all met at a local bar for apps and drinks.  I had some apps, but skipped the drinks since I knew I had to get up for a 5am run this morning.  I snuck out of the bar a little early and headed home.  I headed straight for bed and pasted out within a few minutes.

Jimmy is headed upstate this weekend with his friend Craig to go hunting… Yes, my fiance likes to hunt.  No, he was not into hunting when we first met (He actually started this hobby about a year into our relationship).  I’m not really a fan of hunting, it just seems really boring to me.  I won’t ever have deer heads on my mantle, but the way I see it is, he found a hobby that he enjoys so good for him.  I’m definitely going to miss him this weekend though, especially since I feel like I hardly saw him this week.

Other than that, after my race on Saturday, I plan on parking myself on my couch and not moving.  Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?
