Egg White’s Galore

Hi friends!

Well, I woke up to a lovely email this morning:

April-I’ve been reading your blog for a while, and I know you’ve addressed this topic before, but I feel it’s a concern. You burn so many calories, and eat so few. Also the way you diligently count calories, carbs, fat, etc., leads many people to believe you are anorexic. Also, from the progress photos you posted, you look completely emaciated. You are trying to build your body, not shrink, and starve it. It’s no wonder you’re not bulking up, because you don’t eat nearly enough. I know you have explicitly said that you do not have an eating disorder, but everything about you proves otherwise. Come out of denial, your body, mind, and soul will thank you.PS. This is random, but when you say stuff like lol and jk, you don’t capitalize them. It makes you look like a mom who doesn’t know what she’s saying.PPS. Yes, I know I’m a bitch. Get over it.

Umm.. I am not going to defend myself on the blog anymore. I have no reason to- I’m happy, and healthy! I will say one thing- some people just need to find something better to do with their time than try to insult others!

Moving on!

I went to bed quite late last night (10:00 Ha!) But still woke up at 6 as usual ready to lift! Today’s workout was Back, Triceps, and Abs. After eating my pre-workout breakfast, it was time to pump some iron! Here’s what I did:

Regular Sets (1 minute rest):

  • Wide Grip Overhand Pull Ups - 4 sets of 5 unassisted, 4 unassisted, 4 unassisted, and 3 unassisted; Added 10 pounds of assistance to make it 4 sets of 8, if that makes sense
  • Unassisted Vertical Dips - 4 sets of 10
  • T-Bar Row with Olympic Bar- 110 pounds, 3 sets of 8 <-increased weight
  • Skull Crushers - 50 pounds, 4 sets of 10, 8, 8, 8
  • V-Bar Pull Down - 85 pounds, 4 sets of 10, 8, 7, 7
  • One Arm Pronated Tricep Extension- 20 pounds per arm, 4 sets of 8
  • High Cable Row while in Squat- 137.5 pounds, 4 sets of 10
  • Rope Pushdowns- 42.5, 2 sets of 6; 35 pounds, 1 set of 8 <-triceps were already fried
  • Shrugs- 95 pounds, 3 sets of 15

Ab Work:

  • Hanging Leg Raises (straight leg)- 4 sets of 20
  • Jackknife on Bench- 10 pounds, 3 sets of 15
  • Pulse Ups- 10 pounds, 3 sets of 15

Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes Calories Burned: 498 Max HR: 200

While I was there, I noticed another woman lifting heavy weights. She looked AMAZING. Super lean, and nicely shaped muscles. I started chatting with her, and come to find out she is 46, and doing a bodybuilding contest! She said that diet is everything when it comes to building muscle, and losing fat. Exactly why I count calories, macros, etc :)

I came home and started off with a Lightened Double Chocolate Peppermint Shake (my favorite of all time!):


And then I had some Mock French Toast!

After eating my family and I headed to Walmart to look around. I found some frozen cauliflower.. score! So obviously I had to have some for lunch.. I was starving when we got home! I steamed up a whole bag (435 grams) and then pureed them with rosemary & garlic seasoning, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and Braggs Amino Acids. Then I mixed in 100 grams cooked lean ground bison, and 1/2 oz pepitas:

My next meal was a “recees” omelet! 1 cup egg whites blended with cream of tartar, baking powder, and cinnamon. Topped with 1 tsp 100% dark cocoa powder, and 1 tbsp almond butter:

Still taking advantage of our week of spa services at Planet Beach, my sister and I went for a facial in the afternoon. My face doesn’t look too much better at the moment! LOL

For dinner, I was unmotivated to make anything fancy. My mom recently bought some Barleans oil to try out, so I decided to try some. I made another omlette the same way I did earlier, but topped it with 1 tbsp Barleans Essential Women’s Swirl (chocolate raspberry flavor):


I also had 162 grams green beans with mustard:

That omega swirl was GOOD!! Like chocolate syrup!

Not sure what my plans for the evening are! I’m kinda missing Bryon :( Oh well, all in time!

Oh, and you know dessert will be involved!
