Effective Ways to Cure Bad Smelling Feet

When a person walks in the room that has foul smelling feet, there is many times that everyone in the entire room will notice. Even though it may not be their fault because these foul smelling odors are often caused from fungal infections of the feet, many people still find it very hard to remain in a closed in area with someone who has this type of problem. It can be a very embarrassing situation for the individual who has bad smelling feet.

Causes for smelly feetSweating is a common function of the body’s system that rids the body of numerous toxins. However, when the sweat on the feet is not continuously removed, bacteria can continue growing and feeding on the organisms that can be found in sweat. These organisms are known as ‘organic acids’, and they often carry a very powerful odor. When conditions such as this are left untreated, it can quickly turn into a fungus infection.

There are several different reasons why a person might suffer from stinky feet.

  • Excessive physical labor
  • Jobs that require a lot of traveling
  • Heavy exposure to the sun
  • Heavy consumption of teas, coffee, soft drinks, and coffee

  • Wearing cotton socksAlways wear cotton socks, as they absorb sweat and keep your feet dry. Synthetic socks do not absorb sweat, ending in a bad odor.
  • Use an antiperspirant on your feet and spray some foot powder in your footwear.
  • Keep an additional pair of sneakers, as regular use of same sneakers will cause a bad smell because of the sweat build-up in the shoes. It is best if you will alternate shoes every day, never wearing the same pair twice in a row.
  • If you are at home then opt for walking barefoot, or you may try wearing sandals. There are times that people ignore cleanliness when they are at home. Make sure to keep your feet clean even if you are at home.
  • Washing your feet with green tea is also an amazing solution to fight against smelly feet. Simply immerse two bags of green tea in a tub of hot water. Soak your feet for twenty to thirty minutes, and then rinse with warm water. This technique can win the fight of smelly feet for an entire day.
  • Take a bath using baking soda that is mixed with a few teaspoonful of vinegar. This mixture will soothe rashes or chapped skin that has formed on your feet, which will reduce the bad smell.
  • Spray some cornstarch or talcum powder once a week on your feet.
  • Apply juice that has been extracted from a radish or turnip. These are raw deodorants that are excellent weapons to use in battling against foul odors.
  • Neem leaves are great for adding to bath water. Neem water possesses antioxidants that have antibacterial properties that can wards off the problem of smelly feet. Neem kills bacteria and guards the skin from infection, thus neem water is very beneficial for good health of the skin.
  • Cut down your consumption of sugar and alcohol for a few days. It is said that bacteria is attracted to sugar. Even alcohol can cause the release of heavy sweat, so it is best to simply avoid each of these.
  • Try and use acne soap for your feet. Acne soap contains antibacterial properties which are useful to kill any bacteria that may have formed. This kind of soap is easily available and relatively cheap in price.
  • Include a good amount of parsley in your regular diet. Parsley is an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. They are very helpful in nourishing the glands that are responsible for the intake of calcium. It is also considered as a diuretic that helps to flush out all toxic waste from the body. Parsley is an excellent medicinal herb which is useful for inflammation of the liver and kidneys as well.
  • Cilantro is regarded as an amazing metal detoxifier. This gives them the ability to absorb the bad odor very easily.
  • Soaking your feet in black tea for approximately thirty minutes can offer huge benefits against smelly feet. This cool solution will keep the foul smell away for an entire day. It can also clean the bacteria and fungus that has settled on the surface of your skin, and it can prevent any further sweating.
  • Do not wear unclean, smelly or very tight shoes. Always wear clean and comfortable shoes.
  • Apply some talcum or baby powder to your feet before going out.
  • Consume a healthy diet. Refrain from consuming fried foods, condiments, and pickles. Indulge yourself with a good amount of healthy vegetables and fruits.

These all are very simple methods that can keep you away from any embarrassing moments in social circles. Apart from home remedies and some precautions, it is very good to engage in some light exercise. Following these methods can keep foul smells away, giving you the confidence to hold your head high when you are in the company of others.
