Sunday mornings might just be my favorite part of the week. They’re leisurely yet productive -a time when I can sip coffee while writing out my grocery list, scramble eggs while planing meals and workouts for the week.
They’re my favorite part of the week even when I wake up at 7am. On last morning I have to sleep in before starting my new job.
Yeah about that new job… details are coming, promise.
Before yesterday, I can’t remember the last time I had a normal Sunday morning like this -with coffee, breakfast, grocery list-writing, workout planning and meal prepping. Certainly having to be at work first thing this morning had something to do with the revival of my Sunday morning ritual -but as boxes are unpacked and furniture finds it place, we’re also starting to feel more settled in our new apartment. For better or for worse, I am not someone who can relax until I feel settled.
But yesterday morning I relaxed -while the hubs-to-be made me one of our favorite Spanish breakfasts , tostada con tomate.
Once the caffeine kicked in I turned into a baking maniac because I had yet to use my new KitchenAid mixerand showing up to your first day of work with a delicious, homemade treat can never be a bad thing. Oh, and because after a dinner and a couple of glasses of prosecco on Saturday night Rob talked me into baking him my chocolate chip banana bread. Smart man!
After the banana bread and before the first-day-of-work treat, the hubs-to-be and I got out for a gorgeous and insanely hilly 5.5 mile hike/run just 15 minutes from our place. Northern California living is nice, people. Really nice. As for the rest of the week:
Monday: early morning Spin & TRX – trying to get back into a routine of exercising before work… we’ll see if that happens
