eats & exercise | warm days & cool nights

What a gorgeous week we’ve had. My dad came to town for a short visit the other night on his migration south for the winter so we made made our usual trip to  the milk farm  for ice cream. Every fall he packs up the car, my favorite little man included, and drives from Boston to sunny Florida, stopping for a visit in NC. Luckily, the days have been warm and we were able to sneak in one last ice cream cone while rocking the sun to sleep.

I’ve been inspired to get outside and run a lot more than usual with the weather being so incredible this week. I did an unexpected 6 miler on Sunday and proceeded to eat myself into a butternut squash beef stew coma.

Last night, I met a couple of  lululemon friends and another adorable local blogger, Lauren , for a 4 miler at the Fullsteam Run Club  in Durham.

Kathy & Kate (the cute, fit ladies in the middle) invited me to join them at this run club a couple of months ago and I’ve gone every chance since. I mean, there are food trucks at the finish, why wouldn’t I? It’s essentially a mini celebration that the week is half over.

Speaking of celebration, I only have 3 days left at my dietetic internship ! I want to say I won’t know what to do with myself when it’s over next Tuesday… but the truth is I know exactly what I’ll be doing. It involves a lot of writing, research and has the word thesis in it. Yup, I have to crank out my Master’s thesis in just 3 short weeks. It doesn’t sound like fun but I’m actually really excited to start because I’ll be writing a business plan for the private practice I want build over the next couple of years. Pretty cool, huh?
