Yesterday I reunited with a dear friend, Savanna@ Light Delight with Toutou to celebrate our new life to start when we graduate. We both got job offers!!!
Savanna let me pick the place and due to Star’s constant rambling about how exquisite is french cuisine, I picked Cafe Du Park for us.

Since it’s restaurant week here in DC, we ordered the fixed 3 course menu and a gigantic plate of Steamed mussels in a white wine, garlic, shallots, parsley and butter sauce served with hand cut fries

It’s sooo fresh and delicious!!!! I think I had >20!

Star had potato soup as starter

Savanna and I had the Salad du Parc: Mesclun greens, Gruyère, hard boiled egg, avocado, red onions, bacon slivers and croutons

french baguette with butter hit the spot! I think I had 2/3 of the basket

as entree we all had the shrimp with taglitelle

As dessert Star had the mini lemon pie

it’s so cute

Savanna and I had the puff with chocolate mousse as filling

It was a great meal and we had great chat!!! Love love love dining with good friends!!!

Now, into my skin care routine. First let me say that I sudden focus on skin care was due to the extreme dryness and allergy that I had when I was in shanghai. My skin had red bumps, it hurt when I used any kind of product except La Roche Posay Hydrafase. According to some people that I talked to, it was caused by extreme dry skin, which made the skin vulnerable, and therefore develop the allergy.
It was a wake up call for me. I was so busy and stressed out last year that I barely pay attention to my skin. Every night I’d clean as fast as I could and move into the couch. Breakout was the norm. Closed white heads were all over my face. I was procrastinating on taking care of myself, but there was always something more important to do.
Okay. That came to an end (fortunately). My 2011 resolution will be to take care of myself, seriously!!! So, here is my new skin routine. It might seem a lot of products and steps, but it takes less than an hour a day to do all.
the batch of products that I’m currently using

As cleanser I used La Roche Posay Toleriane. It’s recommended for sensitive skin.
As toner/water I use LRO thermal water (AM) and Suisse Programme toner (PM)

I’m using two serum and two moisturizers.
Philophy hope is not enough Omega 369: a replenishing facial treatment infused with healthy omega 3,6 and 9 to help stimulate the skin’s natural process of renewal and regeneration while maintaining it suppleness and elasticity. PM use.
Topix Replenix Cream CF: it’ composed by 90% polyphenol isolates, derived from green tea, with potent antioxidant properties to assist in minimizing free-radical induced skin damage. It’s an anti-aging treatment, for rosacea & sensitive skin. The emolient, rich water-soluble cream formula contains hyaluronic acid and soy phospholipid complex to help achieve smoother, silkier, softer and more radiant looking skin. Now fortified with caffeine to enhance the antioxidant properties of green tea. AM use.
Relastin Skin Revitalizer: it promotes elastin formation – diminishing fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging, for smoother, firmer, more radiant skin. PM use.
SkinCeuticals Emollience: Formulated with an selection of natural extracts and oils, this rich and restorative moisturizer is perfect for use on dry skin. Three nutrient-rich Brazilian sea algae nourish and hydrate the skin, while oils of grape seed, rose hip, and macadamia restore and maintain moisture. Emollience is ideal for high altitudes and cold or dry climates. AM use.

for the eyes I use
La Roche Posay Redermic Plus Daily Anti-Wrinkle Eyes: it uses Madecassoside, an active ingredient purified at over 95% concentration well-known for its skin repairing properties along with pure Vitamin C dosed at 5%, a well known anti-aging active ingredient. AM and PM.
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Gold Ultra Lift and Strengthening Eye Capsules: these are pure, potent, intensive single dose capsules containing the innovative CLX Complex. This Complex delivers the restorative power of Ceramides and essential lipids to help strengthen skin’s barrier against the visible signs of time. They fortify skin in the eye area, help fight fine lines and crows feet and give eyes a virtually lifted, smoother, brighter look. PM

Masks

Misc:
A skin moisture tester.
LRP Hydraphase Legere to be applied during the day whenever I feel dry.
LRP tinted sunscreen

I don’t use towel to clean the face, it’s to rough. Instead I use baby sheets to dry the skin after cleaning. And cotton pads to apply toner.

the routine
AM
- LRP cleanser
- thermal water
- eye cream
- serum (all the face)
