Does the Holiday Season get you Stressed?

It’s that time of year when a lot of people get super busy with holiday preparations.  While this should be a great time for everyone, for a variety of reasons, it can be a very stressful time as well.

This morning I came across an article from mayoclinic.com about dealing with the stress that can come from the holidays.  There are great tips for helping overcome the stress and depression that may come this time of year. 

One of the tips mentioned in the article is to not abandon healthy habits.  The author says:

“Don’t let the holidays become a dietary free-for-all. Some indulgence is OK, but overindulgence only adds to your stress and guilt.”

I think that is wise advice.  Also, don’t forget about getting plenty of physical activity during this holiday season.  A nice walk or any other form of exercise can be a great stress reliever.  There are plenty of excuses we can make for why not to squeeze in our exercise.  We just need to make it a priority.

Enjoy this holiday season.  Enjoy the food, the time with loved ones, and everything else about the holidays.

As you do so, remember your healthy habits –they can help you avoid the unwanted stress of the holidays!
