Dinner Fit for a Diner

Posted Feb 08 2012 10:46pm

Hello!  I’ve been working on updating the good ole’ blog this evening.  If you look at the top you will find two new pages: Travel and Restaurants .  I love to travel and try out new food and felt like these adventures deserved a page of their own! :-)

I’m also working on updating the Workout Log , which is ridiculously out of date.  It’s taking me a while because I’ve had to go back all the way to October to input my daily workouts!  I revamped the Recipe Page with some pictures, and I am going to be re-doing the About Me Page tomorrow.  Makeover here I come!

I wasn’t feeling too hot this morning so I skipped my morning workout in lieu of an hour-long evening dog park date with this little gal!

Since we adopted Sandy from the shelter, we’re not exactly sure what breed of dog she is, but she’s definitely some type of sheep dog.  At the park, the only interaction she has with other dogs is when she tries to herd them.  She chases them down in a circle, barks up a storm, and then leaves with her tail wagging when she’s got them all together.  She never actually plays with other dogs….just herds them.  It’s actually pretty fun to watch her in action!

Dinner

Today’s dinner was diner-worthy…at least I think so!  I fried up two eggs for me and Vince while I roasted broccoli and rosemary potatoes.  Rosemary is key.  How is it that this spice makes everything taste so good?! This reminded me of a healthified version of “eggs and hashbrowns”.

For dessert we shared two mangos and several strawberries that I cut up while dinner was cookin’.

This fresh fruit was so good.  Both the strawberries and the mango were perfectly ripe, sweet, and juicy.  I have yet to find a fruit that I don’t like.  Wait, I take that back.  I can not stand the taste of durian.  If you’ve ever been to Southeast Asia, you know what I’m talking about.

Durian = stinky

Durians are considered delicacies that some people refer to as fragrant, but to most, including myself, it smells like garbage.  In Malaysia, there signs in hotels saying “No Durians Allowed.”  That’s how bad it is!  Ah, thinking about it now gives me the heebeegeebees.  If I offended you because you like durians, I’m sorry.  :-)

Now I’m off to relax before I hit the sack.  See ya tomorrow!

What’s your favorite fruit?  Have you ever tried durian?
