Dieciséis point Cinco!

Posted Jun 07 2010 7:02am

Such a busy week!!!! I feel like I barely have enough time to breathe these days. And it’s only going to get busier considering I start my Web Design course tonight. I’m so sad I won’t be able to hit the gym (unless I got at 10 @ night, aka not happening). Moving on, so many pictures to post.

First! I have been obsessed with Sabra’s Supremely Spicy hummus! Normally when I eat something that is supposed to be hot, I don’t find it to be. But this seriously is, so good.

Moving on, Friday was my little brother’s prom!! So of course I have to post a couple pictures of him and his adorable date Taylor. They both looked fabulous!

Way fricken cute! I can’t believe how old my brother is getting. In less than a month he’ll be off to Rowan pursuing a degree in Advertising! I bet my parents never would have guessed that both their children would essentially be going to school for the same thing and then making a living out of it!

Lets see, Saturday Brendan and I went on a nice long bike ride along Sandy Hook. It took us a couple of hours, and a couple of breaks to complete, but in total we biked about 15 miles! I’ve never biked so much on a real bike, so I felt pretty accomplished. Brendan is hooked and going there again tonight, I will join him again on Friday! One bad thing is what biking resulted in…

THE WORST TAN EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I totally forgot to sunblock so my nose is burnt and part of my arms. Total Fail. I hope that tan starts to fade quick! lol

After we quickly freshened up and got dressed for a date! Brendan took me back to The Mill , in Spring Lake. Set beautifully on a lake with an awesome prix fix, 3 course,  menu ! We of course got dressed up!

I loved my 5 dollar H&M tube top, with 20 buck H&M skirt. 20 dollar (on sale) Anne Klein wedge peep toes, and I was ready! I had been really wanted the Trio the last time I was here, but didn’t get it for fear of calories, but I knew after such a long workout on our bikes, that I could handle it! Trio was:  Crab & goat cheese turnover, ham croquet, Chorizo stuffed potato fritter, smoked tomato salsa

I only had half of the first one which I guess was the ham croquet. I didn’t like it, it tasted like an awkward hot dog. lol. That giant ball in the middle was my favorite (the potato stuffed with chorizo). I gave half of this big guy to Brendan, but what I did eat was amazing. And the last one was the crab turnover which I tasted a bit of green curry in. That was also delish! I didn’t eat the crust around the outside but pretty much devoured the rest. My main course was:  Grilled Salmon Topped with olive tapenade, roasted creamer potatoes & broccoli

I just wish they had given me more broccoli! But I did steal an asparagus from Brendan to  compensate. The olive topping was amazing! I think there was probably also some capers chopped up in there as well. It was perfectly salty and paired so well with my perfectly grilled salmon! So soft and flaky. The potatoes were banging too! I only ate half of the salmon and half of the potatoes and brought them as well as the other 2 asparagus from Brendan’s plate home.  I didn’t want to over do it, since I knew dessert was a coming! We ordered cheesecake again (plus tea), except this time it was HUGE. I only ate half and gave the rest to Brendan to take home.  Dinner was AWESOME. And our sweet waiter remembered us from the first time we came. That is definitely our spot.

Sunday was a lazy fricken day. I watched Law & Order over and over and over. It was fabulous. I also had my leftovers for lunch as well as this salad:

Romaine, Cherry Tomatoes, Onion, Olives, Reduced Fat Feta, Red Wine Vinaigrette! Yummm

And my favorite news to report, which by now I hope you have guessed from the title isssssssssssssssssssss: I have lost 16.5 pounds!! 20 more to go until I feel comfortable in my skin again! I am so proud of myself and felt fabulous all weekend. I know I can keep this up, and that’s the best part! Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Workouts last week included Tuesday: 40 minutes of Brendan’s work out plan! Excercises that Brendan thought of and coached me through. He did them too!
Wednesday: 35 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical
Thursday: Centergy (a mix of yoga and pilates) This class was HARD! I was dripping sweat all over my yoga mat. But I loved it and will be back this week
Saturday:  15 Mile Bike Ride!

Questions: Do you enjoy Price Fixed Menu’s or do you prefer to order your own courses? What is your favorite Hummus flavor?
