Did she do it??

Posted Mar 03 2010 12:00am

Success! Trivia night was a blast. We literally got there thinking it would be about an hour or a bit longer. NOT! Try three hours! But we had a great time. After the first round we were in first place! At the end of three rounds, we finished in third and got $10 off our tab- woo hoo! Anyway, I digress. The real success is that I did not eat anything while I was there! My friends kept talking about ordering fries and all I was thinking the whole time was how am I going to resist these fries? Well, I did it!

When I got home from school today, a nice little package from was waiting for me. Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Oh hell yes. Now, I am HUGE into I am not exaggerating when I say that tons of my friends post about this Shred video and its 3 levels, intensity, body firming, etc etc. Well after a couple of weeks of reading their posts, I figured let me jump on the Shred bandwagon! I ordered it last week and was so glad it came today. I had a meeting after school and missed my kickboxing class, so literally when I walked in I tore off the packaging and popped that bad boy in the DVD player. WELL. How many times did I shout “I hate you!” Um, my neighbors probably think I’m nuts. All the grunting and groaning – I felt like one of those creepers at the gym haha! As much as I hate it, I equally LOVE it. It’s only day one, and about 15 minutes after I completed the first work out, and my arms are BURNING! I can’t wait to do it again tomorrow!

If you are unfamiliar with the DVD, check it out here . There are three levels which you work through at your own pace. Each day’s workout is twenty minutes long. The twenty minute workout has three cycles (I know- this is a lot- sorry if I’m losing you!) Each cycle goes like this: 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs. And there are no breaks. It’s intense. She yells at you. I love it.

As far as Weight Watchers, I did good today. Stayed at my point level. Can’t say there wasn’t temptation though! I walk into the meeting after school today and the host had a spread of Dark Chocolate M & M’s, Peanut M & M’s, vanilla and strawberry wafers, potato chips, and Life Savers. I’m thinking “This is going to be the death of me.” NOT the case! I measured out a serving of the chips and added it into my points for the day. I was so proud of myself. Believe me, it took a lot of fighting the hunger to not devour everything in sight. And of course, sitting right across from me is this beautiful, skinny, young teacher who is not eating a single thing. So I’m thinking, no wonder she’s so skinny. But she eventually cracked and ate a ton of M & M’s (why was I secretly thinking “YES”!?) I’m evil.
