"I never assume my clients are any more or less busy than I am that is why I teach them to stay fit and eat healthy DESPITE of and IN SPITE of what life calls for." - Mubarakah Ibrahim
This a very timely message for me. Your life can take you down paths and roads you never even thought of in the blink of an eye. It's something like the saying, While we are busy making plans, God is laughing...
I have been planning to run the Chicago Half Marathon for months now. I've been steady on my training and running a solid 9 miles at the moment. I'm more than on pace to be ready for September. I've planned everything out, but I did not plan on some crazy circumstances to arise in my life and take me from suburban Minneapolis to S.E. Asia. But that's where I'm headed. No worries, I will still be at the race in Chicago. But for the next six weeks I will need to pull out all the stops to somehow keep running and training while also traveling throughout Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia - those are the countries on the itinerary.
This trip is a lot about mental health, prioritizing your life and learning to role with the punches. That's what I'm doing now. And as Mubarakah said - we have to learn to stay fit and eat healthy despite of and inspite of what life brings our way. I really hope I can do it.
In the meantime I still plan on updating here on the Blog. I will keep everyone posted on how the trip and my training are progressing. I hope to upload some pics and videos. My camera is like 5 years old and way behind in the technology and I'm trying to convince my husband that we need to buy a new one before we leave on Sunday. He's not really feeling me on this - being the king of all frugal people.
I recorded this little clip to show him how bad the quality is but of course he said "looks fine to me". He's a "ride it till the wheel fall off " type of guy.
(ps- I have no idea why I'm talking like I have dentures in my mouth)
