Yeah that’s right, date night on a Tuesday. Yes two date nights in a row. Better yet – we have one more date night this week. Friday is gym date night.
Let’s start with dinner. I have a treat for you meat eaters. I cooked quite the delicious chicken for my darling carnivore last night. I started by putting water, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar in a frying pan and heating it on low heat. Then put in cut up chicken breast and sprinkle with a lot of rosemary.
Now put the lid on and continue to cook on low heat until chicken is cooked through and liquid is gone. Looks delicious doesn’t it?
This is my meal: green salad with balsamic dressing, carrots and hummus, and roasted sweet potatoes and parsnips.
We ate dinner super early (5pm) so that we could have a movie date night. I hate going to late shows, geez do I sound old or what. That is where the hangover started to blossom. Right at the beginning of the movie, when Brad and I started SHOVELING popcorn into our mouths like hyena’s. Add the popcorn to a huge cup of iced tea and I was done for. When I woke up this morning I thought to myself “wait a second . . . did I just spend the last 12 hours doing shots?” Oh wait no, I just overdosed on popcorn and expected to feel like a champ this morning.
So I did what any healthy living blogger who’s supposed to be a good example would do. Sweat it out! I just got home from kicking my but at the gym. Starting with 15 minutes of running and alternating walking on 10.0 incline. Then 10 minutes on the elliptical. Then 15 minutes of weights. I do feel WAY better now.
What kind of junk food gives you food hangovers?
***UPDATE: don’t forget to head over to my Meditation Challenge page to see how I did yesterday (spoiler: not that good). Tonight will be a real challenge because I won’t be home from work until 11pm and those are the nights I have the hardest time falling asleep.
